Means loveable I believe.
I like it for a little girl but would it be awful for a teenager/grown woman?

I love it - was nearly dd's name.

Lovely...I always name DDs dolls Mabel just so I can use it!

Love it actually, never thought of it before. Good nicknames: May or Belle/Bella. Cute for little one and quite striking for a teenager/adult. Go for it if you're brave enough for something different!

HelenaRose · 19/11/2010 23:34

I associate it with dogs. Or cows. Sorry. :/

ramonaquimby · 19/11/2010 23:30

It's gorgeous, my fave girls name

LetThereBeRock · 19/11/2010 23:27

It's hideous.

My 6 year old DS has a Mabel in his year group.

I used to know a Mabel on UK Chat, I thought it was an old fashioned name but she suited it perfectly. She used Mabs or Bel for short.
