I think Caleb is a gorgeous name. I also like quite a few of the more unusual Biblical names, such as Malachi but I don't think I'd be adventurous enough for that one! Caleb is lovely though, unusual but not too off the wall IYSWIM.

trudibleakley · 22/02/2011 16:58

My son is called Caleb and I love it, so glad I chose, however starting to become more and more populat - my son is nearly 4.

MrsGubbins · 21/11/2010 10:16

I wanted to have a Seth Caleb but DH has vetoed saying that it means dog in arabic... not great as he's Jordanian

CheerfulYank · 21/11/2010 02:37

I like it a lot. Wasn't Caleb a little boy on that show?

Here in America I know several and it's always pronounced Kay-leb/lib/lub, depending on where you're from. Most use Cal as a nn but I know one who's called Cabs or Cabbie. (He's a great guy, so now I think of Cabbie as a fabulous nn! :) )

weepootle · 20/11/2010 21:31

I really loved the name when I first heard it on American Gothic, still like it now although I wouldn't use it.

blushingm · 20/11/2010 20:25

i like it......................more so because of caleb Followill hmmmmm

Mumcentreplus · 20/11/2010 15:24

I like it...

Greenwing · 20/11/2010 15:19

Caleb is a great name. It is Hebrew - in the book of Exodus, Caleb is one of the Israelites wandering in the desert with Moses and he was noted for his great faith in God, along with Joshua.

CappuccinoCarrie · 20/11/2010 15:10

We love the name but DH's cousin used it first. Really nice, go for it!

Mozismyhero · 20/11/2010 15:05

I really like this name for our LO. Is the name of one of the Kings of Leon. DH has said no Sad.

Ephiny · 19/11/2010 21:56

He's the main protaganist, a young boy. He's good, I guess, though a lot of it is about his fight to stay good and not be drawn over to the other side (it's a real good vs evil story!). It's been quite a few years since I watched it so don't remember all the details!

ThatllDoPig · 19/11/2010 15:09

Yes, I was going to ask about the american gothic character. Never heard of it. Please tell us if he is a goody or is he some kind of vampire or other gothic creature?

BelligerentGhoul · 18/11/2010 21:08

Don't like it at all, sorry.

It's in the same style as Seth and Silus, which I also really don't like.

Shelly32 · 18/11/2010 21:01

Caleb in American Gothic..was he a goodie or a baddie or a mixture??

Sarsaparilllla · 18/11/2010 15:50

Love it, makes me think of the lead singer in Kings of Leon :)

Ephiny · 18/11/2010 11:32

Like it, definitely makes me think of American Gothic though!

merrymonsters · 17/11/2010 22:03

I know a 5 year old Caleb. It's said 'cay-leb'. I probably wouldn't choose it myself, but I like it.

Ragwort · 17/11/2010 12:53

Really don't like it.

MollysChambers · 17/11/2010 12:51

Love it. It's biblical. I think its going to become popular with the Followill connection....

lanismum · 17/11/2010 12:50

Love it, it reminds me of the gorgeous singer of Kings of Leon.....

coolascucumber · 17/11/2010 11:02

Reninds me of American Gothic too!

Someone's at the door..... very creepy

Rhubarbgarden · 17/11/2010 10:57

Horrible. Sorry.

eastendmummy · 17/11/2010 10:39

I have a Caleb and think it's a great name! We pronounce it Cay-leb. He's almost 3 and I haven't met any others where we live (london) It means loyal which I think is lovely.

Violet5 · 17/11/2010 10:34

Does remind me of some american shows but i like it Smile
