laurenamium · 10/11/2010 12:53

I have decided on Indie for the name of my little girl, I have posted before asking opinions of it and got a mixed bag but I do really like it so its staying Grin

But Im really struggling to find a middle name to go with it? I dont want Rose as its just too popular at the minute and I have a horse called Rosie...Any help appreciated!

My daughter's name is Indie. It is a rare one and I love it for just that reason. She has had more compliments on her name then anything else. The only people that curled their lips were old-fashioned fuddy duddy's.

The name totally suits my little girl, it is her through and through.

I won't tell you her middle name but other middle names I considered were:

Indie Isla
Indie Blue
Indie Echo
Indie Gaia
Indie Aoki
Indie Kalia

Oh good grief people, all sorts of names can end up with jokes about them. My F-i-L suggested that Arthur's middle name be Guinness. (He got a measured look, I can tell you).

Indie Christabel
Indie Maria
Indie Susanna
Indie Therese

Im due on 30th April 2011 and i love the name Indie if i have a girl, her middle name would be Elizabeth the same as mine. Im pleased someone else likes the name as everyone ive told the name too dont seem to like it!

RosyBelle · 13/11/2010 12:11

I have an Indy... and I'm afraid I went with the common one of India Rose... but I am Middle name Rose, my older DD middle Rose, my mums middle is Rose and I didn't want India to be odd one out!!

If not India then how about Indira,,,

lilly13 · 13/11/2010 09:21

Is Indiana full name for Indie? Then maybe

Jane
Sofia
Cynthia
Corrinna
Clarissa
Zarina

jkklpu · 12/11/2010 21:13

Sgrace
Gnation
Club
Know

Rhubarbgarden · 11/11/2010 18:42

I also think you should keep India as her full name. Much better on a CV.

Indie Simone
indie Maria
Indie Ellen

I REALLY like lola too, I had considered that as a first name but I have certain friends that give me that name as a nickname, might be worth considering as a middle name though

I like that jeffrey its lovely :-)

Thanks for the suggestions! May is up there as an option I hadnt thought about so it was definitely worth posting...

Other nightmare sirnames would be Binn, Garden, Stonehouse, Meadow...the list is forever ending, but there are plenty of sirnames out there and she could always double barrell

Paige
Joy
Skye
Jade

I too think a 1 syllable name sounds better. I'm having a little girl due in 10 day and have chosen the name Sienna Lucia which many people say sounds like a holiday resort but me and my DH love it so we're sticking with it :)

You are a good sport but I still think calling her Indie is open to abuse. Why not register as India and use Indie as the nn.

Have you thought of her married name? A quick flick through the phone book gives:
Garrett
Green
Hall
Hart
Male
Moone
Potts
Raine

wigglesrock · 11/11/2010 11:17

Second/third claps to laurenamium for having such a good sense of humour. I can poke fun because dd2 has the most popular name in the world EVER so obviously I am lacking in original thought Grin

indiechick · 11/11/2010 11:08

Chick obviously!

MackerelOfFact · 11/11/2010 09:42

laurenamium Thank you for taking my suggestions in the spirit they were intended. Grin FWIW (and I know you weren't asking opinions on the name) I actually think Indie is really a pretty name, so it wasn't a dig at your choice.

Seriously though, I like Indie Lola.

WillYouDoTheDamnedFanjo · 10/11/2010 22:06

Laurenamium, you are a good sport. It is a lovely name, it's true that daft things can be tagged on to it, but since you're aware of that and still love it, it's a winner! There are very few names that can't be mucked about with.

I do feel that this topic would be redundant if only glowing comments were left about name choices!

laurenamium · 10/11/2010 21:04

My brother just pointed out nesia...Its a good job I love this name!

I like Mya too...hmmm

I would think that as laurenamium has decided on the name Indie and is definitely going to name her daughter it, it's a bit off to make mocking suggestions for middle names.

I have an India and her middle name is Clarabelle after one of her grandmothers. I didn't know about the cow connection before we named her though, so perhaps I wouldn't have chosen it armed with that knowledge. However, I still think it's a very pretty name and flows well.

Agree that Rose is too popular as a middle name now. Like the suggestion of May.

Oh, and my India is frequently shortened to Indy Smile

expectingno3 · 10/11/2010 14:58

I second Lexx's May. Very popular at the moment but really does go with Indie. Some others:

Indie Estella
Indie Eliza
Indie Beth
Indie Bea

Lexx · 10/11/2010 14:41

Indianna is the name I would love to call a daughter but not brave enough!!! Indie May, Indie Lara, Indie Alanna??

FIMBOfedupofrandomfireworks · 10/11/2010 14:34

Indie Sapphire

Indie Camille

Indie Luisa

Indie Jennifer

senua · 10/11/2010 14:33

LOL @ Mackerel. I had similar thoughts.
It's just asking for cruel nicknames.

Pasiphae · 10/11/2010 14:28

Indie Josephine? Indie Thisbe, Indie Hebe, Indie Verity, Indie Agnes? Indie Mabel?
