Jack for a boy

Looking to call my baby boy Jack after his grand dad who passed away a few years ago. My DH loves the name and so do both our parents but one family friend has been very vocal about how she doesn't like it saying he will be called Jack Sh!t at school.
I like the name and can't think of a better one but as it has been one of the top baby names for a few years I'm not sure I want him to be one of many other Jacks although not met any Jacks baby or grown up for a long time.

Jack goes well with our surname just wondered what people thought?

Do feel a bit under pressure as DH has gone around telling everyone that the baby is going to be called Jack but want to get the name right and be 100% happy even if we have to change it when we meet him.

Thanks

Its nice and if it has a speical meaning for you go for it. I don't agree with your family friend. You can find something negative about most names. I'm Isabel and how many times did I get 'Is a bell necessary on a bike' at school, I'm not in therapy because of it.

Jack's a great name, go for it.

The name is immensely popular because people like it. Kids will think of nicknames whatever the name is. Your friend is being ridiculous.

Of course he won't be called Jack Shit. He will be called Jack-whatever-your-surname-is though, to distinguish him from the other 15 Jacks in his class.
