My DD is 10 days old today. We have decided on Clementine as a first name but we are struggling with a middle name.

Any other suggestions welcome.

Many thanks x

Aurelia

CrispyTheCorpse · 31/10/2010 20:15

I love Clementine BTW Smile

Mitchymum · 31/10/2010 20:16

Clementine Rose.

Long first name needs a short middle name, in my opinion.

itisntreallyme · 31/10/2010 20:22

I too was going to suggest Rose but someone is bound to pop up and say its too popular (not that I see the problem with that). I love Clementine too.

Nux · 31/10/2010 20:22

I like Clementine. Agree it needs a short middle name. Rose? Grace? Iris?

itisntreallyme · 31/10/2010 20:22

PS I prefer Lily to Violet though

choux · 31/10/2010 20:23

Clementine Grace is lovely. Of the two suggested by OP i prefer Lily.

Minione · 31/10/2010 21:05

Prefer the name Violet, but Lily goes better. Love Clementine btw!

ZeroZeroOne · 31/10/2010 21:17

I have a Clementine Lula. Agree on short middle name. [hsmile]

Notyetamummy · 31/10/2010 21:23

I think Clementine Violet is gorgeous!

Other ideas:

Clementine Rose
Clementine Pearl
Clementine Jane
Clementine Ivy
Clementine Catherine
Clementine Joy
Clementine Charlotte

How many syllables is your surname?

Valinor · 31/10/2010 22:09

Sorry, should've given a bit more info. Surname is 1 syllable so ideally we are looking for a short, 2 syllable middle name.

Jane, Ann and Elizabeth are out as are names beginning with A and M.

Would like an October/Autumn connection if possible not it's not essential.

Thanks x

Is that Clementine to rhyme with seen, or Clementine to rhyme with wine (like in the song)?

Mitchymum · 31/10/2010 22:33

Clementine Octavia?

candyflossbaby · 31/10/2010 22:36

Lily

Valinor · 31/10/2010 22:38

We are pronouncing it Clemen-TEEN rather than Clemen-TYNE.

Clementine Violet is lovely, very lyrical. My dad wanted to call me Violet but my mother wouldn't let him - no imagination!
