Just watched a programme on Seebohm rowntree and thought it was a most unusual first name.

anyone know any Seebohm's around?

I can see a bit of old fashioned charm there, but I would not want it to be my name!

wikipedia says seebohm was joseph's son.weird name.

not my choice! don't think it was Joseph though. BBc/Wikipedia says he was Benjamin Seebohm Rowntree but he went by Seebohm.

agree, don't see it catching on. just never heard it before so fascinated.

It was his mother's surname. A bit like calling your child Wilcox.

Which is fine if you like that sort of thing, but I don't see Seebohm catching on.

Do you think it's pronounced the same as sebum?
