Right, baby due in 7 days and we have been arguing discussin baby names since the 20 week scan. My lovely suggestions of Isabel, Martha and Isla have been REJECTED by my VERY UNREASONABLE DH. So we have now come up with Amy. Not on the top 20 list for last 2 years but still a nice pretty name?

What do you think when you hear Amy?

Amy is a pretty classic name - what's there not to like?
Good luck!

Y'see I really like Isabel, but not Isabella (Hmm go figure!)

I think what puts me off Amy is that the one I know really well, also has a very strong regional accent, so sort of calls herself Eh-meh" which adds to the meh element somewhat!

And I don't like the new Dr Who woman.

Bucharest I alternate between meh and I really like it. Isabel is actually REALLY popular (along with its variations Isabelle and Isabella but they will mostly end up as Izzy anyway!) deffo in the top 50 last 2 years.

Like Northern and Belinda have said Amy used to be popular but is now not used as much.

7 days to go, sigh. (literally elcs next Wed morning)

I think a bit meh, sorry!

I know loads who are about 15-18 yrs old now. In fact, my friend's daughter is Amy, she's 17 and was one of about 4 in her nursery class.

Can't you persuade dh that as you give birth you get to choose? And have the utterly lovely and underused Isabel?

Much less 'common' (popular) than your other choices and lovely. Was very popular among little girls I taught about 10 years ago - they were all adorable!

I think of the little Amy I know - it's a great name!
