I have met so many Kayden/Kaidens in my job. All were from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. This is just my experience but the statistics that poorlyconstructed were on about do reflect real life.

Do you have to have Kaiden - there are a lot of them about, many spelt in different ways.

You could have Kaiden Jaiden Aiden - to stick with the theme ;)

Your choice - you will never please everyone

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 27/05/2017 13:11

Yes, to Caiden James.

grufallosfriend · 27/05/2017 11:34

Who cares whether we like or dislike Kaiden. Thankfully we all have different tastes and the op likes it. She may not like my kids' names!

Little Kaiden is 7 years old now

GinIsIn · 27/05/2017 10:44

I'm sure they've felt bad about it the entire SEVEN YEARS since they posted, @wellokay Hmm

senua · 27/05/2017 10:44

This is the second time it's been zombied!

namechange20050 · 27/05/2017 10:43

Very good point Flora!

All this stuff about spelling depends on how far back into history one wants to go. Taken too far, it becomes problematic. Consider this example:
Today, Kelly is one of the most famous Irish surnames.
Originally it was probably 'ceallach', which means 'hermit'.
But over the years it's been given an English-style spelling. With a 'k'. Does that make any less Irish???

The same shift to English-style spelling very probably applies to Kaiden.

I expect AliCat did an Advanced Search for her son's name and this came up.

NKfell · 09/04/2015 18:54

It might be helpful to people considering Kaiden...Although, if someone's considering it, they might be put off by this thread!

I wonder what this Kaiden's middle name is!

RL20 · 09/04/2015 18:18

How do these threads even come back around?!

I've only been on mumsnet for less than a year but I see that it has always been a ground for judgemental people to walk on regarding baby names!

Call him zombie?

This is an old thread.

NKfell · 09/04/2015 18:08

When I was at school there was a Canon called Caden Law Spence. I always thought Caden Law was very cool! Plus, he was a thoroughly nice man!

So my suggestion is, Law.

madreloco · 09/04/2015 15:47

Kaiden is NOT an Irish name. There is no K in the Irish language.
If you piss about with names you can't still claim them as the original name.

Caden and Caeden are proper names. Kaiden is a recent innovation.

rembrandtsrockchick · 09/04/2015 11:33

Kaiden is an unusual name so I would go with something short and traditional as a middle name.

James for preference or maybe Seth.

Also John. Peter.

VT82 · 09/04/2015 11:15

4.5 years old? I wonder if young Kaiden the commoner has been expelled from nursery yet and is already working in McDonalds (no stars, obviously)?

manicinsomniac · 09/04/2015 10:57

Sorry! Kaiden - I got mixed up with all the spelling arguments!
