BelligerentGhoul · 03/10/2010 16:09

DaisyDaresYOU · 03/10/2010 16:08

But i second what thisisyesterday if you like it(as long as it aint silly)then you should go for it.I love dds name alot of people don't.I can honestly say it doesn't vother me.Me and dp like it,that's all that matters

DaisyDaresYOU · 03/10/2010 16:05

I actually like it,but i really don't think it's suits a man.

lazycow007 · 03/10/2010 14:22

Yes i too have heard of the spelling Kobe and knew one child called that. Also know a Cobie too.

Think it is more of a fun kiddie name not a name a man grows up to like or would want to be lumbered with so maybe going with Jacob gives him that option.

Only imo though so go with your gut instinct.

LouMacca · 03/10/2010 14:20

Sorry I stand corrected - just found it in my baby names book Blush. Also spelt Coby or Kobi.

Its a form of Jacob, meaning "He who supplants".

I have heard it. I like it. It is a name. I think it's used more in the States but its origins are Japanese (Kobe, as in the city).

I think it's quite popular in America; I'm sure I've heard it in films. I'm not keen on it personally, but if you like it - use it.

LouMacca · 03/10/2010 14:09

Koby isn't a name. Never heard of it and sorry don't like it. How about Cody?

thisisyesterday · 03/10/2010 14:02

i don't particularly like it

but it's your child and if you love the name then use it!
i know what it's like to have name regret (when you love a name but don't use it!)

Skyrg · 03/10/2010 14:00

I don't like it either, sorry.
It doesn't sound like a real name, it sounds like a toy (like a furby!)

Isn't it a nickname for Jacob? Could you call him Jacob and use Koby as a nickname?

BooBooGlass · 03/10/2010 13:56

Hate it
