Kobe Bryant. Used to be a basketball hero. Now better known for rape allegations.

NO.

Rhubarbgarden · 05/10/2010 18:57

Sounds very American.

Fimbo · 05/10/2010 16:10

I know one. Its ok but not what I would personally chose. Also ds (6) thinks it should be Obi Wan Kenobi.

allieballiebee · 05/10/2010 16:07

I know a Kobe. Personally don't like it.

sparkle12mar08 · 05/10/2010 11:41

Awful, sorry.

gapbear · 05/10/2010 08:16

Kobe is a type of very expensive beef.

mathanxiety · 05/10/2010 02:49

There's Obi Wan Kenobi?

SparklyJules · 04/10/2010 21:18

My local bar is called Kobe!

It's not a great name for a child, however you spell it. What's wrong with John, haven't heard of one of those for ages, it must be due a revival by now? Grandad chic, no?

Itsnotthatgrimupnorth · 04/10/2010 21:14

Wasn't Koby a character in the Star Wars films? Confused

howdidthishappenthen · 04/10/2010 20:30

I thought 'knobby' when I saw it. Sorry

bluebump · 04/10/2010 20:30

My neighbour has a Coby, interestingly she also has a Jacob, I didn't know Coby was a nickname for Jacob, i'm guessing she doesn't either Grin

4andnotout · 04/10/2010 20:29

I love it. When i was pregnant with both dd3 and dd4 we had Kobe for a boy, dp's mum is jewish and would have loved us to have a jewish name and this is as close as we got.

plonker · 04/10/2010 20:26

Hate it

5DollarShake · 04/10/2010 20:25

I know of a Kobie whose Dad is of African origin (not sure which country) - meaning something to do with 'warrior'.

I love "Kobe isn't a name. Never heard of it". Grin How can you know it isn't a name if you've never heard of it? There must be millions of names from non-Anglo countries that you personally haven't heard of. Presumably they don't exist either?! Grin

kizzibear · 04/10/2010 19:46

I know a KOBI and no one rises an eyebrow, but wouldn't choose it myself, but its not horrible

lifeinagoldfishbowl · 04/10/2010 19:02

A friend has a Cobi - which I think is a better spelling.

MrToad · 04/10/2010 18:53

No No, sounds made up.

mathanxiety · 04/10/2010 18:52

Kobe Bryant, NBA basketball star.

I wouldn't use it because it's too close to 'Koba'

Effjay · 04/10/2010 10:02

No. No. No. 'Orrible.

DandyDan · 04/10/2010 09:55

Kobi was that little dog character who was the mascot of the Barcelona Olympics, wasn't it?

DaisyDaresYOU · 03/10/2010 16:09
