My friend is pregnant with her third and is undecided about names and asked me to ask MN which names from her list they prefer....

She already has a John and Michael.

Laura
Rachael
Catherine

Abe
Nicholas
Timothy

Or any other suggestions?

I prefer Catherine from the girls' ones, but would she consider Lara rather than Laura as I think that is lovely?

Out of the boys' I would pick Nicholas. Or suggest Edward...

lazycow007 · 03/10/2010 12:17

I love Timothy for a boy and think it goes well with John and Michael.

All the girls names are lovely though Rachael is too similar to Michael (or maybe that is what she likes)

Skyrg · 03/10/2010 13:46

I think Lara is nicer than Laura, and less common.
Rachael should be spelt Rachel...
Catherine is nice.

Abe seems like a nickname.
Nicholas is fine as long as she can get past Knickerless.
Timothy is nice and safe.

(What about Wendy, then they'd be the cast of Peter Pan! Grin )

Laura - gorgeous
Rachael - prefer it spelled Rachel, since she won't have to explain her spelling
Catherine - lovely classic name

Abe - not keen myself
Nicholas - again, never met a Nicholas I liked
Timothy - lovely

cazzybabs · 03/10/2010 14:20

I like Nicholas and Laura

Ineedsomesleep · 03/10/2010 15:57

Laura & Nicholas

MrsJohnDeere · 03/10/2010 16:04

Laura (although love Katherine/Kate spelt that way).

Nicholas

BelligerentGhoul · 03/10/2010 16:07

I like all of them except Abe (which I really don't like) but prefer the Rachel spelling. Timothy and Catherine are my favourites.

I really like Timothy and am always surprised it's so uncommon nowadays (or seems to be). I like Terence too!

pointydog · 03/10/2010 16:13

The girl names are all fine.

I'd go with Timothy for the boy (Tim).

Niecie · 03/10/2010 16:16

Rachel and Catherine are lovely. Laura is OK

Don't like Timothy at all and Abe seems to be short for something.

Not particularly keen on Nicholas but like Nick so that is the best of the bunch.

CuppaTeaJanice · 03/10/2010 17:12

Abe is a cool name.

The rest are a bit boring. But she does like safe names, looking at her first two choices.

anastasiak · 03/10/2010 20:46

I like Rachel but wouldn't spell it that way.

kizzibear · 03/10/2010 22:54

RACHEL not the other spelling

rachxx · 03/10/2010 22:55

rachel should never be spelt any other way.

wilkos · 03/10/2010 22:55

Catherine and Nicholas

AaronsBoo · 03/10/2010 23:47

Thank you Smile

Wendy Grin - my evil step mothers name so maybe not lol.

I know a few Rachaels and they all spell it Rachael - maybe its more common that way where we live. Hadn't noticed the similarity to Michael, shes ticked that one off the list - maybe use it as a middle name.

Abe is from a book, its the name of a very gorreous police detective, think its swaying her view Wink

Catherine was her grandmothers name, and Laura is a family name too.

Timothy is the first name of McGee on NCIS Grin

Nicholas is just a totally ramdom choice Smile

Laura -- very plain, prefer Lara and love Laurel
Rachael -- prefer spelled without the extra A; I really love this name
Catherine -- prefer spelled Kathryn

Rachel would be my choice.

Abe -- Is this Abraham? Like if so, dislike if not
Nicholas -- Love
Timothy -- Like a lot, even if it does remind me of The Goodies

Nicholas gets my vote.

Rach109 · 06/10/2010 22:04

Rachel of course! lol but seeing as thats off the list ....
I love Catherine ( bit only that spelling!)
prefer Lara ( or Clara) to Laura or what about Lauren ?

not keen on any of the boys names TBH!
