Lyric or Soren

Ok, here goes again. Beauden and Arizona have gone down badly. Indigo not great either.

So how about Lyric or Soren for a boy? As you can tell, I am not going to suggest James or Thomas just yet.

Thoughts appreciated as you are all helping me rule out names and others in.

Don't mind the criticism (or the more positive posts). All part of the process.

I love Soren. I know a gorgeous Swedish one Smile.

ShowOfHands · 02/10/2010 09:14

That isn't a baby name book you're browsing, it's a dictionary.

Come now. I am a lentil-weaving hippy, but you're just being silly.

Lyra's a bit like Lyric. NOT lyre though, that's another one of your dictionary words.

Soren is fine.

Soren is lovely

I don't like Lyric and I would also say that it is overwhelmingly female.

Soren is better but I think depends heavily on your surname

Flighttattendant · 02/10/2010 07:02

Or Seren.

I think both are names...not quite sure.

Flighttattendant · 02/10/2010 07:01

Oh dear...Soren is Ok but Lyric? No, no, no...please no. So it was you with those other ones in active conversations then?!

Indigo is better than the others at least - I'm presuming you're in America?

How about Sennen.

jumpyjack · 02/10/2010 06:57

Soren. A million times better than the other options, even with the Soren Lorenson connection.

MummyLovesSadie · 02/10/2010 06:52

Yes Soren Lorenson for me too! Much better than Lyric though. Hmm

mathanxiety · 02/10/2010 03:49

Soren -- I love it. I like Scandinavian names though. The meaning wouldn't bother me.

Lyric I would really assume to be a girl.

MrsRhettButler · 02/10/2010 02:23

soren lorenson Grin

sorry, couldn't resist

i like lyric

arizonagirl · 02/10/2010 02:19

Still liking Lyric though. Like Soren but have just been reading some other reviews - a couple of people have pointed out that it starts with 'sore' which puts them off. Others have said they don't like the harsh meaning of the name 'Strict and stern'. There also seems to be a debate about how to pronounce it. So perhaps it isn't such a great idea - nice sounding name though. Although nothing to do with nature.

Lyric is not a boys name, I like Soren.
