These are the only three names I like for DS2. I think at the minute, Rory is fave, but I would welcome other suggestions, or thoughts. I really like Max but it would sound totally ridiculous with out surname What do you think?

Does your DH have names that he likes himself, or is he just saying he doesn't like yours? I would keep Rory on the table, mentally speaking, if it were me.

Psychommead · 28/10/2010 15:59

Love Rory.

Rory Philip
Rory Elliot
Rory Sebastian

Hi all and thanks for your responses. I am feeling gutted today, as had another big 'name talk' with DH last night and he is now saying, after I thought we had a final three, that he is not hot on ANY of them. Ruled Theo out as that was his least favourite but I am not sure we will ever agree. Grrrrrr. Feel like I am back to square one. Unless I can get my evil way in the next couple of months! Or maybe I just call him Rory Joel from day one and tell DH I can't see him being anything else, and wait for him to get used to it! Grin

If we had a third, it had better be a girl!

I have a Rory - currently struggling to think of a boy's name we like as much in case no. 2 is a boy too...

notasize10yetbutoneday · 27/10/2010 11:54

My DH is called Rory! So definitely a vote from me.

MissHavishamsDress · 27/10/2010 10:30

The names are nice, I used to love both Theo and Joel, but that was in the 80s. If I had a son named Theodore I think I'd like to name him Teddy, that's adorable.

How about Rudy?
I like Saul too.
or Leander/ Lysander (wild cards)

smother · 27/10/2010 09:32

I love them all. Theo is probably my favourite on paper but as others have said, there are loads of them around and so it has become a bit of a non-name. Max is the same re popularity so don't worry about not being able to have it!

I think Rory Joel would be great - a fantastic name in fact.

MoppingMummy · 26/10/2010 09:25

Joel Alexander. I like Joel, but it's probably more popular than Rory at the moment.

EightiesChick · 26/10/2010 00:03

Definitely Rory. I love it. The other 2 names are also nice though.

metromum · 25/10/2010 23:53

Love Joel and Rory:

Rory Joel

buttonmoon78 · 25/10/2010 22:52

I have a Joel David. I love it. And him Grin

PanicMode · 06/10/2010 19:01

Oh, and re Max - we almost chose Max instead of Theo - but there are 4 in my daughter's class (Y1) so in my experience, it is far more 'common' than Theo.

PanicMode · 06/10/2010 19:01

I have a Theodore (Alexander John, known as Theo and a Rory James (Victor) - what great taste you have Smile.

I know everyone says there are hundreds of Theos, but I only know of one other (in the SE) and as yet, no Rorys. I also have a Rufus and there are more than one of them however!

NKinDXB · 05/10/2010 17:01

Joel Nathan / Evan. Something ending in 'n' works for me. Don't know why.

All good though. I like Rory James.

kizzibear · 05/10/2010 16:39

I hate Joel-dont ask me why, but the others are good.

eth37 · 05/10/2010 15:16

Hmm, still can't decide - thought we were set on Rory, but Joel creeping back as favourite. Think I have gone off Theo, really don't like Theodore and think it sounds a bit incomplete on its own, somehow. And a bit too trendy. Not sure of a middle name to go with Joel though... Atleast I have a while to go!!

I have a Rory James. I get loads of compliments especially from men, who think it's a strong and 'cool' name.

NormanNorris · 03/10/2010 20:59

Rory!!

I don't like Joel due to bad associations and I'm so bored of Theo as I know loads (5 within close friends and family)

Secretwishescometrue · 03/10/2010 20:59

Oh def Rory its a great name! And I think it goes great with James too but I know a Rory Dylan he's hitting 30 and a total cool surfer music dude and I just love the name! Congrats btw :)

telsa · 03/10/2010 20:45

Joel is a lovely name.

Vine · 03/10/2010 15:28

Quite like them all. I think Saul fits with them.

tummytickler · 03/10/2010 11:03

I like Joel the best, Rory is quite nice too. Not a fan of Theo I am afraid, but if you do go for Theo, definately use Theodore on the bc.

Rockbird · 03/10/2010 05:06

Definitely Rory. Great name.

mathanxiety · 03/10/2010 05:02

Rory first choice for me.

Rory Joseph
Rory Patrick
Rory David
Rory Cole
Rory Elliott
Rory Benjamin

Honeydragon · 02/10/2010 23:42
