Just out of curiosity, what is your opinion on the name celeste? I am considering it as a middle name to go with first name Martha [smile}

I really love the name but like a few have already mentioned it's also the name of a well known contraceptive pill.

I really like it. But was told it sounded like cyst.
Also if the child ever went to Reading festival it would have bottle of piss chucked at it.

So, vetoed.

I wouldn't mind being called Celeste, and that's the acid test for me.

Just to let you know. We didn't end up going for Celeste in the end - although I still really like it. We chose the name Martha Felicity-Rose as it has strong family links. Thanks for all your feedback Grin

Like others here, I have also taken the Celeste OCP. Which also counts out Yasmin for me. Bloody drug companies. Why can't they call them Doris, or something.

I love both names but not together.

If pushed, I would probably choose Martha

I have a Celeste too. I have heard....
-It's the pill,
-Daphne & Celeste
-It's prostitute name
-It rhymes with Molest
-The Mary Celeste
-It's too "precious"
-What kind of a name is that?

BUT the overall majority seems to think that it is rather pretty.

I think it is one of the prefect name out there, of course!

I do like the sound of Celeste although I would not saddle a child of mine with the name.

You could just about get away with it as a middle name.

Reminds me of Daphne and Celeste, and their 'greasy greasy granny'!

Would be a much nicer name if they hadn't existed!

Not sure about the Martha Celeste combo, but love Celeste as a name, more than Martha.

Much prefer Celeste Martha though.
