Phoebe, Poppy or Holly?

Opinions gratefully received? only got 2 weeks or so left now! I know people think poppy suits baby more than adult, but surely that will change with the next generation as there are so many of them??

Phoebe. Its our very close second choice name and will probably be DDs middle name.

coraltoes · 21/09/2010 16:47

I like Holly the most out of the 3. I went to school with a Holly over 20 yrs ago, so hardly only a modern name.

see ladies, it is possible to answer the question without being rude and saying X name is horrible. I don't understand the obsession with not only answering the question but making sure that the replies are as hurtful as possible. I'm not called Holly or Phoebe but jeez.

PutTheKettleOn · 21/09/2010 16:24

haha, v observant Lois, I do have a 2yo Polly and I think it's the best name ever and there should be more of them (though not too many!) Grin

LoisCommonDenominator · 21/09/2010 16:18

Then again I wonder if PutTheKettleOn is biased at all? Wink

LoisCommonDenominator · 21/09/2010 16:18

Ooh, Polly is nice!

PutTheKettleOn · 21/09/2010 16:13

Have you thought about Polly? Similar to all your choices but not as over-used.

Otherwise, out of the three I like Phoebe best Smile

LoisCommonDenominator · 21/09/2010 10:34

Phoebe. Beautiful and rich in meaning and history.

Not keen on Poppy or Holly, they're not bad but a bit dull. Prefer Holly to Poppy.

minipie · 21/09/2010 10:03

Holly

lovely name.

Shimbo · 21/09/2010 10:01

Phoebe is awful, sorry, I think it is very harsh sounding and especially don't like Feebs. Poppy and Holly are ok, fit in well with today's cute names but not overly keen.

sophieandbelly · 21/09/2010 08:16

love them all- phoebe then holly then poppy, and u r right about these type of names wnt seem strange on an adult because there will be plenty of them!

tilbatilba · 21/09/2010 02:37

Adore Phoebe....shining moon xx

nappyaddict · 21/09/2010 01:51

They are all a bit too popular at the moment for me.

How about Pippa, Heidi or Halle?

proudfoot · 21/09/2010 01:47

Holly

jabberwocky · 21/09/2010 01:34

Phoebe

CheerfulYank · 21/09/2010 01:19

Phoebe or Poppy

NotanOtter · 20/09/2010 21:46

Phoebe classy

others not

DirtyMartini · 20/09/2010 21:45

Phoebe -- classic (Shakespearean & all) and classy.

Poppy: used to like it as is quite pretty, but too much "of the moment" now, starting to get on my tits because of trendy associations. Bodenesque.

Holly: edging towards naffness

Rach109 · 20/09/2010 21:41

Holly

Mumcah · 20/09/2010 21:04

I love Phoebe

sophiesmummie · 20/09/2010 19:20

I don't really like any, but if I had to choose, I'd say Pheobe. But it won't translate will into other languages imo.

Rockbird · 20/09/2010 16:54

Phoebe is pretty, Poppy is horrible and Holly is dull.

SacharissaCripslock · 20/09/2010 16:44

Phoebe.

mo3g · 20/09/2010 16:37

I only like poppy not keen on phoebe and think holly Christmas as others have said good luck

NiceCuppaT · 20/09/2010 16:33

Phoebe is awful, I just don't get it!! Feebs = urgh!

Holly is nice but better for a Christmas baby.

Poppy I like, and she will be fine as an adult with all the Millies, Tillys, Daisys, Maisies, Lilys etc...
