A middle name for Ezekiel

Okay so we think we have finally decided on a boys name but it wasn't one from our original shortlist and we're not sure about a middle name to go with it. The middle names we had on our shortlist were:

Henry
James
George

We are open to any other suggestions but would like to keep the middle name fairly traditional as the forename is a bit unusual.
It doesn't have to be Biblical!

I love Ezekiel -- gorgeous choice. I like James with it, Henry as coming in second.

Ezekiel is a great name. I think James would go best from your list as a middle name.

DS5 was planned to be Ezekiel (Zeke for short). We have an Isaac, Daniel, Joel and Levi so we like the OT names (I would have had Noah and Elijah but too DH veto'd them).

We hadn't settled on a middle name - I was thinking along the lines of Paul or Luke as it is a long first name so something short would be nice. James is my favourite off your list but we already had that for DS4.

Anyway, turns out we didn't need it as DS5 was actually DD1! So we have an Eva Grace instead Grin

But I definately love Ezekiel and think Zeke as a nickname rocks.

My little cousin is Ezekiel John - lovely name and his Mum has never has any funny comments, or problems with pronunciation. We call him Zeke or Zekie most of the time :)
From your list I like James best x

Ha ha! That's why we're going for a traditional middle name, just in case he really hates it!

James. Great middle name, and Ezekiel is a fab first name imo. Like both the full version (and the Biblical namesake) and think Zeke is a cool nn if you want to use one.

I really like it.

Going to be odd looking at a tiny blobby baby with a magnificent bearded prophet's name.

I'm guessing he'll be a bit Hmm about it in his younger days, then vv pleased with it the older he gets

PS Don't forget to check the initials and surname combination - in today's Daily Telegraph was an announcement for a boy named Alexander Pigg Grin.

Sorry ellesabe I was probably a bit blunt with my comment but I do think it is such an unusual name that it will attract a lot of comments - and not all of them will be complimentary. I think that you will get 'Easy-keel' type pronounciation as Tippychoocks has said.

I do a lot of voluntary work with young children and it can be a real problem if they have names that even they can't pronounce themselves. Also, children (and adults - let's be honest) do snigger and make unkind comments if names are 'too' different and obscure.

Actually I love biblical names, but I do think this one is just too 'different'. I would love to hear from mumsnetters who have really unusual names, how they felt about growing up with an unusual name.

I like it too. I think something short like John or James would make a good middle name.

Ahhh thanks for the positive comments. It's the first time I've tried the name out on anyone and was a bit gutted that the first reaction was a negative one.

Lovely name - Ezekiel is a great name.

As middle name I like

Ezekiel George and
Ezekiel James.
