I'll go first-

Anne/Anna
Nancy

I don't know why I feel such a strong dislike for them! Perfectly nice normal names logically but for me.......no. To say the least.

Apologies to any parents of Annas or Nancys, I know I am the freakish one for feeling this way!

Figured everyone would have at least one name like this?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Don't like Jessica at all either.

Also detest Anne. Knew a really nasty one once.

I just hate really pretentious, trying too hard names, most of which I see on here, not in real life to be honest.

myredcardigan · 07/09/2010 22:25

Yes, Ellie as well! Irrational, I know but smacks of can't be bothered to think of anything so I'll use the name that every other bugger is using!

LynetteScavo · 07/09/2010 22:13

Thomas and Holly.

I have no reason to justify myself. Blush

greythorne · 07/09/2010 22:08

PMSL Elephants and Miasma at your comment re: 'John'.

suwoo · 07/09/2010 22:00

Uh oh, my sister, my best friend, my DD, my DS1 name and DS2's middle name are all on this thread.

harrumph.

lemonysweet · 07/09/2010 21:58

Robert shortened to Rob or Bob.
Lewis.
John.
Brittany.
Ashley for a boy. LOVE the name Ashleigh for a girl.

im so irrational its unreal.
also Amy, Aimee, any spelling or variant. No.

plonker · 07/09/2010 21:57

"me and all 3 of my dd's are on here"

Shock Blush

of course what I meant was that my name, and all 3 off my dd's names are on here ...

plonker · 07/09/2010 21:55

Oh dear, me and all 3 of my dd's are on here ... Hmm Grin

My irrational hate is Ellie. The ones I know are all little buggers

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 07/09/2010 21:50

All Chris men are evil.

John - might as well be called Blob or Man.

Ernest - will the poor child never be allowed to crack a smile?

Olivia - just because I hate olives, and having a vile food in your name is taking things too far.

Bechka · 07/09/2010 21:46

Noah (sorry NATW, it is irrational I know!)
Oliver
Joanne
Sarah

DH had plenty such names, it was his reason for vetoing what seemed like hundreds of my lovely name suggestions.

Pamsparty · 07/09/2010 21:44

I recognise that people consider these names to be pretty and feminine, but they are just too sickly sweet for me:
Amelia and Emilia

NoahAndTheWhale · 07/09/2010 21:38

DD is here and so is my mum Smile.

I don't like Jessica.

DinahRod · 07/09/2010 21:35

Emma & Sally, one was spiteful & bovine, the other my brownie nemesis, the spoilt, sly dd of brown owl...the scars still linger Grin

myredcardigan · 07/09/2010 21:33

Lots but mostly, Lucy.

Eglu · 07/09/2010 21:33

Oh and Sophie - always seems really soppy sounding to me.

Eglu · 07/09/2010 21:32

Jack

Stinkyfeet · 07/09/2010 21:32

George

BelligerentGhoul · 07/09/2010 21:30

Am doing well here, since my name and one of my dd's names are both featured!

I will throw:

Elliot
Guy
Wendy
Archie

into the mix.

FakePlasticTrees · 07/09/2010 21:28

Jessica.

I don't know why, DH wanted it to be on the list of possible names if DS had been a DD, and it made me shudder at the thought I could name a child that. But I've met a couple of Jessica's, who were both rather nice people, and I'd not thought "lovely woman, shame about the shocking name" ever, so not sure why I had such a strong reaction to it...

oh, and anything ending in Anne - although names ending in Anna are fine for me.

StrictlyTory · 07/09/2010 21:26

Louis - I cannot stand it. Lewis is fine but Louis, pronounced Louie is just so hideous I don't understand why anyone would ever pick it.

Millie - The ultimate 'I never want my child to grow up' name. Sounds too babyish even for a baby! I can't imagine being an adult sadlled with such a silly name.

scottishmummy · 07/09/2010 21:20

so many,too many too type

BuntyPenfold · 07/09/2010 21:16

Grace - I have never understood why a name so close to grease is popular

Alison

Sam and Samantha

Nathan

runningrach · 07/09/2010 20:56

Ruth

Don't know why, just don't like the sound of it. I was gutted 20 years ago when my aunt called my baby cousin Ruth, and even though she is perfectly lovely I still don't like the name now.

VinegarTits · 07/09/2010 20:10

No not directed at you op, just cant stand it, reminds of the word 'silly'

i dont post under my real name either, who does? Wink
