What would Daniel's twin siblings be called?!

Due in Dec with twins - a boy and a girl!!!

Already have a Daniel Patrick (aged 8 July just gone). Really struggling with what to name his siblings though!!!

I LOVE the name Leah for the girl twin but really dislike the meanings; (weary/to tire/weak eyes/etc). They're just so horrible for such a lovely name!!! :( It's putting me off, although I keep coming back to it!!!!!

I'm completely lost on the boy twins name though. DH likes Thomas but his Dsis's favourite (and much mentioned) name for a boy, so we can't steal that!!! Is Nicholas totally horrendous? Maybe we should stick with a Biblical/Irish link?! (As in Biblical first name, Irish middle name)?!

Help me! I'm going nuts!!! Confused Any ideas welcome!!!!! Grin

From the suggestions so far, I like Sarah, Rebecca, Emma and Anna, Nicholas, Jacob and Alexander.

Anna Rebecca
Emma Rebecca
Sarah Rebecca
Rebecca Sarah
Alexander Jacob
Jacob Nicholas
Jacob Alexander
Nicholas Jacob

Glad to be of service Grin. I only have DD or there would be an Alexander in my life too.

foxypar4 · 26/08/2010 14:16

I have a Daniel and an Alexander and think they go really well together, great timeless names. I love Leah too.

Fecker · 26/08/2010 14:15

Thank you everyone - these are all brilliant! :)

Ooooooh - Alexander is AWESOME - how on earth did we miss that one?! I quite like Dermot as a middle name as well - I'd probably spell any Irish middle names in the Anglicised manner as my son's middle name is spelt Patrick rather than Padraig! Brilliant suggestion though - I will put that on the shortlist! :)

For your boy, may I suggest Alexander Diarmuid? (or Dermot if you want to anglicise it). I think that would be nice with a 1-syllable surname.

Firawla · 26/08/2010 14:07

Leah is really nice, I don't think it will matter too much about the meaning especially if you give a good meaning for the mn

for a boy what about Adam?

Fluffypoms · 26/08/2010 14:05

James and sophia

GladioliBuckets · 26/08/2010 13:59

Luke and Delilah

Fecker · 26/08/2010 13:52

It is so off-putting, isn't it?! I also think Rebecca is lovely - and Rachel also...

The trouble is, there aren't enough biblical names to go around that haven't been extensively used/stolen by my family, lol!!! Grin

Rebecca is lovely but also has a negative meaning. I understand that issue - no matter how lovely a name is, if it's meaning is nasty, I wouldn't feel comfortable to give it to a child.

Matthew is lovely, as are Sarah and Hannah.

Fecker · 26/08/2010 13:27

Thank you guys - I really appreciate the help! My personal choice for boy would have been Samuel but there's a very recent Sam in the family and a teenage one as well, so it would be a bit wrong.

The thing is, my true favourite for a boy, would have to be Sean, but as bad luck would have it, my DH has a 1 syllable surname beginning with Sh.....! We can't do that to the poor lad, can we - it'll sound a bit like "Sean Sheep"!!! Grin Is it completely out of the question?!?!?!

I really am stuck on Leah - I might just have to get over myself and go with it - maybe give her a lovely meaning middle name so she'll forgive me. DH agrees that it's between Leah and Sarah for our girl at the minute. We are still both completely stuck on the lad though!!! Confused

Matthew and Harriet

SirBoobAlot · 26/08/2010 08:30

Thomas
Michael
Matthew
Stephen
Richard

I like Leah - I don't think many people would know the meaning, so if you like it go for it. Names similar could be:

Lyra
Lola
Lila
Elora
Maria
Aaliyah

ivykaty44 · 26/08/2010 08:29

Nicholas is a lovely name and Sarah, a solid name to match

CupcakesHay · 26/08/2010 08:26

OOOh - yes i like Nicholas and Lara.

but i still think Leah is nice. I'm a Hayley and it means Hayl Clearing... not exactly inspiring! but i still like me name!

Vine · 26/08/2010 08:15

Like Leah. Adam goes well with Daniel.

NoPressureNoproblem · 25/08/2010 23:45

Nathan and Hannah

Clary · 25/08/2010 23:28

Ahh DS's best pal Dan was here today and mentioned that he was nearly called Matthew Smile

His sis is Rebecca which made me think of that.

Fecker · 25/08/2010 23:26

Mary is another beautiful name with an awful meaning (means bitter) - such a shame!

I can't do Laurence. I hated Laurence at school! :D

Thanks jellybeans! Emma is pretty, as is Anna. Matthew again. What about Noah? Perhaps it's too different.

Fecker · 25/08/2010 23:17

Can't do either Catherine or Joseph, despite loving them both as they're already in the family!!! Laura is sadly the name of my little girl who didn't make it but thank you so much for the suggestion TeamEdward - I adore the name (it is also the name of a very dear friend of mine)! :)

I'm liking Sarah! Means princess doesn't it?!

Thanks for this folks - keep 'em coming!!! :D
