Levi reminds me of that chap who got Sarah Palin's daughter pregnant and then didn't marry her. He seems intent on becoming a Z list celeb.

I know lots of people who don't mind about celebs with their child's name but it was something we thought about.

franke · 26/08/2010 08:51

Levi. But I also know a girl called Levi.

CakeandRoses · 26/08/2010 08:49

Levi is miles nicer. Good old name which should be reclaimed from legwear!

I have an ancestor called Levi. Not sure that helps you at all though!

Shaz10 · 26/08/2010 08:49

Has he been born yet? If not, don't choose till he is. We had a shortlist of 4 and chose on the day. It was a lot easier once we'd seen him.

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 26/08/2010 08:47

Levi

BalloonSlayer · 26/08/2010 08:41

Erm . . .Levi is a surname as well. Primo Levi?

SirBoobAlot · 26/08/2010 08:40

Mitchell if I had to choose. I can't picture a middle aged man called Levi...

horatia · 25/08/2010 20:41

Levi is much nicer. Mitchell is a surname.

hippipotamiHasLost92lbs · 25/08/2010 19:58

That's ok clpsmum - I did not read it as offensive, was just wondering what the point would be of a skewed set of replies.

Fwiw I like Mitchell better, especially with nn Mitch Smile

jellybeans · 25/08/2010 19:53

GwendolineMaryLacey · 25/08/2010 19:36

eatyourveg · 25/08/2010 19:15

TrillianAstra · 25/08/2010 18:53

Mitch = David Hasselhoff in Baywatch (wasn't it?)

Levi = jeans, of course

HTH

DinahRod · 25/08/2010 18:51

Mitchell

(btw, I know a Mitchell and Redd (not Webb) and also a Levi who has siblings called Jody and Jesse)

Eglu · 25/08/2010 18:33

I really like both.

Levi - I think surfer dude

Mitchell - I like Mitch for nn.

Fluffypoms · 25/08/2010 18:29

Or Mitchell butcher?
Or Mitchell Branning?

Fluffypoms · 25/08/2010 18:28

MItchell Mitchell?

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 25/08/2010 18:23

I don't know if you watch Eastenders, and I know someone mentioned the Mitchells already, but I feel I need to tell you that Sam Mitchell is going to have a baby boy in the next few weeks and call him Mitchell. It might not sway you either way, but thought I should say.

sleepingsowell · 25/08/2010 18:20

Have you considered Mitch? I quite like that whereas Mitchell (in uk at least) is just so chavvy, I couldn't get past that myself - am in south of England, only known chav types with this name. Mitch is quite cute and doesn't have that connexion imo.

To answer the question straight I'd go for Levi of the two. However, both (in my area) would be chavvy names.

Fredfred · 25/08/2010 18:12

Levi

greentriangle · 25/08/2010 17:43

Think of the names on a man as well as on a baby.

I think I prefer Levi for a baby, but Mitchell for a man.

Since he's going to be a man for a lot longer than he'll be a baby, I'd go for Mitchell.

tummytickler · 25/08/2010 17:40

Levi is the best, but only if you pronounce it le-vee, not lee-vie,
If you want to pronounce it Lee-vie then i prefer Mitchell.

BorisTheBold · 25/08/2010 16:59

Levi

sungirltan · 25/08/2010 16:57
