A virtual prize. :).

Hmmm, well she said a Cornish name for the middle name. That has to be 'Loveday'.

For the first name I guess Eleanor, Jane, Sarah or Susannah.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
zenon · 25/08/2010 19:56

Great guess Ixora!!!! Are you in Cornwall by any chance????
Thought Florence too popular for a family with Nancy,Elwyn and of course Ivan. My feeling is they would go for Enid or Edith.

Still find it hard to believe they went on holiday 3 weeks or so before the due date of the birth. (If that was indeed the situation, but who really knows.??? )

Their medical team in London must feel a bit miffed.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 25/08/2010 19:06

End-ELLee-un, I think.

I wonder if frikonastick will change to freconasteck in her honour

taffetacatski · 25/08/2010 18:48

Its pronounced End- ell- e- on

My mum says there's a very famous string quartet from there. Ta Ma.

Shaz10 · 25/08/2010 18:44

Flo' Ro?

CuppaTeaJanice · 25/08/2010 18:42

Ooh, that was a lucky guess!! Do I get a bonus point for getting the first and last letters of the Cornish middle name correct?!!

I did wonder if FEC might not be the best initials......maybe that's why they stuck the Rose in too!!!

gherkinwithapurplemerkin · 25/08/2010 18:27

Is it pron to rhyme with dandelion? Or EnDIll-eon??

taffetacatski · 25/08/2010 18:24

Hugely disapprove of their politics but am loving the name

cordiality · 25/08/2010 17:49

Noooo!!! Both my top girl's names gone in one fell swoop! (And no, I'm not referring to Endellion or Cameron!!!)

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 25/08/2010 17:40

I gave you credit, SoV! Although admittedly I did spell your name wrongly...

Ixora · 25/08/2010 17:33

Bella 32, no inside knowledge, promise! Thanks for shared biscuits MNHQ.

ShadeofViolet · 25/08/2010 17:31

I won - I said Florence first. I never win anything.

OliviaMumsnet · 25/08/2010 17:27

Oh yes, sorry hadn't spotted Ixora's post.

ValiumSingleton · 25/08/2010 17:26

Endellion!?!? that is ........ a very good third name.

Florence is a bit more mainstream than I was expecting.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 25/08/2010 17:25

St Endelienta there is some cow involvement, yes.

I sometimes forget that the Cornish were upstanding church-goers while the English were still sacrificing each other in the woods and worshipping shiny things.

Ixora · 25/08/2010 17:19

Thanks for the kind words from ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave, Orienteerer and ElephantsAndMiasmas! Should have had a bet on it. Thought Endellion was a wild card as it is a bit wacky and off the radar - I've never met another since that girl at school who had it as her first name. But pretty, and so is the whole name, I think. Endellion may have got her sainthood from something to do with cows though ...

Bella32 · 25/08/2010 17:19

Ixora - have you got inside knowledge?

Are you Dave Cameron by any chance?

nymphadora · 25/08/2010 17:18

I had Florence for dc3 :( don't know any here & it wax after my g-Nanna ( & Florence & the machine is COOL!)

Madsometimes · 25/08/2010 17:13

Ixora definitely deserves a prize for guessing Endellion. Surely MNHQ could send her a box of custard creams.

Duritzfan · 25/08/2010 17:13

Really ? I dont know a single one ...

Oh maybe we had a lucky escape then ..... I do like the name though .. and our surname is similar to Cameron so I really think its off the table now.... lol..

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 25/08/2010 17:11

I think there already are a shedload, Duritz

Duritzfan · 25/08/2010 17:08

Bugger bugger bugger David Cameron .... (now theres something that looks very wrong written down !!) Grin

That was MY name for my little girl due in two months ..now there are going to be a shedload of Florences....

Bollox .....

Or, even worse, my poor child will grow up being named after a Tory leader's child.....

back to the baby name books it is then ................Biscuit

Raahh · 25/08/2010 17:06

I wanted Florence for this baby-it was my gran's name- but DH doesn't like FLo, and everyone laughed when I suggested FlossieSad.

It is very popular at the moment, though, and they haven't gone for very popular in the past.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 25/08/2010 17:05

Am changing DD's name to Harlyn

MummikinsOopNorth · 25/08/2010 17:01

I think ShadesOfViolet was the first to suggest Florence. But Ixora should get an extremely large virtual prize for coming up with Endellion.
