What were you almost named?

Just thinking about how on earth anyone ever decides on a name for their child and wondered if anyone knows their parents' shortlists? I'm interested to see how they differ from the shortlists on here today.

I'm Katherine, but was almost Anastasia... DP was almost Morris(!).

My parents said they were going to call me Sarah-Jane.
They went with Nicola in the end which I much prefer

Almost Gayle. It was demoted to middle name at 11th hour and replaced with 70s-tastic Julie.

I'm Deborah but was nearly Rachel or Rebecca. DD2 now has Rachel as a middle name to help DM feel better about her two other choices being 'wasted'!

I would probably have been OK with Rachel, but can't say I like Rebecca much. Not hugely keen on Deborah either though....
