What do you think of this girl's name? Which nicknames would you use other than Temper?

I loathe it.

If you really want a sobriety name, how about Serenity? (or Serena)

serenity · 17/08/2010 23:52

Ditto to a few other posters, I like it, but I'm a fan of the books and the TV show so I'm used to it.

bronze · 17/08/2010 23:44

Brennan - Bones

I love Temperance, but again I am a fan of the Kathy Reichs books.

SirBoobAlot · 17/08/2010 23:31

I absolutely love it, with Tempie as nickname. I don't know whether I would actually have the courage to use it though...

I like it, however she might end up being called Tinie (Tempah) depending on his longevity/popularity!

KittyTwoShoes · 17/08/2010 20:48

I like it, personally.

Flossbert · 17/08/2010 20:37

I love all the "virtue" names, and "Perry" as short for Temperance would be lovely, IMO.

ValiumSingleton · 17/08/2010 20:35

I quite like it but I know two. SO that makes it a bit more normal to me. Both go by Tempie

ShadeofViolet · 17/08/2010 20:35

You DD will hate you when it comes to learning how to spell her name and all her friends are learning 'Ella' or 'Ava'

expatinscotland · 17/08/2010 20:32

Are you African? Or you DH? Our former downstairs neighbours were and worked in care homes and they had names like Innocence and Mercy.

How about Patience? Or Temple? I knew a couple of girls who'd been born to 1970s hippies who were called Temple.

notagrannyyet · 17/08/2010 20:31

Just 'T' would be fine .....short for tea-total.

Prudence, Hope, Charity......all better IMO

PorphyrophillicPixie · 17/08/2010 20:30

*Brilliant Blush I have the light off so cannot see the keyboard!

gherkinwithapurplemerkin · 17/08/2010 20:29

The sort of name that would drive any right-thinking 20yr old to serious drink.

Greensleeves · 17/08/2010 20:27

Perry for short Grin

atah · 17/08/2010 20:27

Shock seriously?

KERALA1 · 17/08/2010 20:26

Poor girl she will never be able to enjoy a glass of wine without some wag making a comment.

PorphyrophillicPixie · 17/08/2010 20:25

It's brillient, but I think that it'd need a really grand surname as another poster said, and it would really need to suit the girl! Tempe as a nickname.

I'm a fan of Kathy Reichs books though so may be somewhat biased!

ObamaSelf · 17/08/2010 20:22

I like it.
Think it needs quite a grand surname to go with it though

LetThereBeRock · 17/08/2010 20:22

Prudence is hideous too btw.

LetThereBeRock · 17/08/2010 20:21

The phrase 'bloody awful' comes to mind.

mathanxiety · 17/08/2010 20:16

How about Esperanza (Hope)?
