Hello, we love the name Jasper but really don't have a clue on how the name is perceived - we just know that we like it!

Sooo, we need to get some outside opinions and perspective on how it sounds etc. Do you like it? Is it too unusual? Is it a name that could cause teasing?

Thanks so much!

Was on our shortlist (so liked it) but didn't go for it in the end because DS had red hair so was (possibly unreasonably) worried about "Jasper Carrot" associations. Otherwise a great name, and not something I associate with pets.

my DH had a dog called Jasper so I think of it as a dogs name... havent read/seen any of the Twilight books/movies so wouldnt associate the name with that, however, I am sure Jasper will be up there in the popular names list very soon.

I love Jasper. Was one of the names I fancied for DS.

I only ever heard of it as a cats name too - an ex b/f had a Siamese cat called Jasper.

We used to call wasps Jaspers, not sure why. I think it is quite nice but will be popular because of the Twilight connection.

I used to always think of it as a dogs name, just because there was a family dog called Jasper.

However, since the Twilight trilogy it immediately reminds me of Jasper Cullen, which is much nicer! I'm sure many people would make this association/name will be more popular nowadays?
