Hamish, Callum or ???

We still have quite a few weeks to go before our baby boy is born, but we are not getting very far with names.

Weeks ago, when we found out we were having a boy, my husband threw out Hamish, and I said I quite liked it. I told him I liked Callum, and he told me he likes that. So, we appear to have two possibilities. But somehow because we've not thought about it lots, or come up with other options, I feel a bit odd about them both.

What do you all think about them? And any other similar ideas??

Middle name will be Wallace - my mothers maiden name (and a thus a Scottish tradition). We live in England, and don't think there is any problem with being English with a Scottish sounding name, but would be interested to know if any of you really disagree with that!

Thanks :)

What about Harris. It's a bit different.

I'd second Brodie, Innes, Euan and Lachlan.

Murdo is lovely - Dh would love to use it, but we have 9 year old dd called Iris, and everone would think I was a crazed Iris Murdoch fan Grin

If it bothers you, Callum is very popular in Scotland right now, has been for several years.

Other "Scottish names" (that would also go with Wallace - love it!) would be Brodie (which I think is fantastic), Struan, Donald, Murdo (bit Old Man up here though), Lewis, Lorn, Lachlann, Innes. I know small versions of all of these names!

I love Hamish!
Also Angus, Gregor, Douglas.
Really not keen on Callum I am afraid - too many bad associations with that name for me - the only ones i have met have been little buggers Grin
