definately Jude ....and it goes well with Ellis

lyns2 · 12/08/2010 23:10

daniel
jude 2 trendy n will sound out of date in 10 years time. My oh wanted to call our 3rd son daniel but refused because although i love the name dnt like the abbreviation danny(sorry ;(). so we compromised on dominic daniel.
Think about it v carefully tho as am slightly regretting naming our daughter phoebe. luv the name but is she going to like it when older? hmm

cece · 12/08/2010 22:49

Daniel.

I like all the variations of Dan or Danny. It is good for a child and a man.

I think Jude is a bit girl tbh and very trendy, so will be a bit like Gary, Dave and Steve used to be...

Jude

jellybeans · 12/08/2010 22:23

Danny(with Daniel on BC)

I really dislike jude as it reminds me of Jude law (hate him) and abit girly.

serin · 12/08/2010 21:58

Jude

SrStanislaus · 12/08/2010 21:13

I wanted to say Jude because of the coolness factor but have to agree that maybe it will be the 'Gary' of future years. Also in my interpretation of your surname (gone with common Irish and English names with those initials) Daniel /Danny sounds a lot better.

pinkteddy · 12/08/2010 21:08

Daniel - I've always liked the name.

AngryPixie · 12/08/2010 21:05

JUDE - no contest!

racheyh · 12/08/2010 21:04

Which would you prefer his mates to sing at him whilst pissed "Hey Jude" or "Danny Boy" cos I know a Jude and a Daniel and this is what happens at the end of every saturday night!

TooBlessedToBeStressed · 12/08/2010 21:04

Daniel

Daniel

Giddyup · 12/08/2010 20:55

Jude

SirBoobAlot · 12/08/2010 20:39

Daniel.

Jude will age, I think. And every time I hear Jude, I get "Nah nah nah na-na-na-nah, na-na-na-nah, Hey Jude" stuck in my bloody head, so I dislike it on principle Grin

Shabbychiclover · 12/08/2010 20:29

Iwantscallops wow you have a Jude and Danny in your house.

Ellis and Jude.

Ellis and Daniel/Danny.

DS1 is Jude and I love it. Haven't met one yet. He occasionally gets called Judy...and Judas (by family and friends) and this doesn't bother him or us whatsoever.

DH is Daniel. He prefers Danny but is known as Daniel, Dan, Danny and Daz.

Whatever name you pick for DS he will always be called by another - it's just the way it goes. Never in a million years did I think my masculine name of 'Jude' would turn into 'Judy' but I wouldn't change a thing!

Congratulations and good luck in your decision!

snowmummy · 12/08/2010 19:34

Daniel

LouMacca · 12/08/2010 19:07

I love both names. I have a Daniel who has a friend called Jude Smile. How about Daniel Jude?

Congrats btw!

QuantaCosta · 12/08/2010 19:06

Love, love, love, Jude. Wanted Jude for mine but got vetod.

Liked Daniel also but several friends had Daniels so didn't.

doubleexpresso · 12/08/2010 18:52

Daniel. Strong, classic, has nn flexibility, is great for a child, great for an adult.
Danny, Champion of the World! Smile
Please let us know what you decide.

tribpot · 12/08/2010 18:46

Daniel. Even if your preference is Danny, let him choose when he's older. I work with two Dannys, would never call either Daniel, but they had a choice of Dan, Daniel or Danny growing up. Ditto my ds is Tobias on his birth certificate, he sort of knows this (is 5) but is always called Toby.

Congratulations on your new arrival!

baskingseals · 12/08/2010 18:46

definitely Jude

FranSanDisco · 12/08/2010 18:41

I'd say Daniel with a double barrell surname. As Jude double-barrell may sound like 'celebrity' aspirations.
