WDYT of Alban?

As in the saint/town. I love it but I'm wondering whether I'm a little odd.

Was very high on my shortlist for DS1. Love it. If we have another DS ever I will definitely want to use it.

meadowlarks - he was about 4 years younger than me so I didn't really know him. I think he was a bit precocious (musical) and a bit naughty, but not awful.

I like it.
My DP cousin called her DS2 Alban Frazer.
When we heard the name at first we were a bit Hmm but it grows on u after a while and now I think it's a great name.
But she also has unusual names for her DS1 and DD.

Our priest is called Alban! Has never heard the name before then, I like it.

Curly - "cereal-esque" just made my day Grin Well, I was going to post another thread soon about a similarly old/unusual name that could never be called "cereal-esque". Maybe I'll stick with that.

I wouldn't thank you if you called me Alban. Also agree that it's very cereal-esque.

There was one at my school. Posh family with a double barrelled surname. Suited them though. I think many "posh" names from 20 years ago are much more democratised these days.

So...I say why not.

no meadow in my accent alpen sounds like AL-pn so alban would sound , to me, in my accent as AL-bn so very similarSmile alot of names sound different in different regions so not the end of that name and if you like it then its not anyone elses opinion that countsSmile

I like it. Could be Albie for short, which I really like too. Different without being too way out.

PandaEis - Are you pronouncing it "Al-Ben"? It's "All-buhn". Otherwise I don't see how it could be miscontrued as Alpen, or Almond, for that matter. "Ar-mund" is really different to "All-buhn".
