Hi all very new to mumsnet.
Just had my second son.Dp is half Italian so he wanted various names(Rocco,Marco,Silvio).
I want Danny for our beautiful son.He says he'll only consider if I accept Daniel.
Hate Daniel but love Danny.Is it okay to christen your son a nn?

I don't like Danny as a whole name or even a shortened name, sorry, but I do love Daniel! I like Dan as a shortened name though.

Just put Daniel on the BC and then forget about it and call him Danny. You can fill in school forms etc as Danny.

We've called our ds Daniel and he is 8 weeks. We shorten it to Danny though! The reason we chose Daniel rather than Danny was so that when he is older he can choose what he wants to be called.

How about something else which would give Danny as a nickname? For example:

Dante (Enduring)
Dangelo (D'Angelo) (Messenger}
Danu (Wealth)

I don't have a problem with nicknames as real names but I can see where your DP is coming from.
