Romilly- do you know of any?

I'm not pregnant at the moment but am considering trying for another one. I have always liked the name Romilly for a girl. I was wondering how popular it is at the moment as I prefer to use an unusual name.

Would you mind letting me know if you know any little Romillys and which area of the country you live in?

Many thanks

PS - I'm not TheMoreItSnows, by the way.

Interesting Geeky fact, did you know it used to be a boys' name? Welsh painter Augustus John had a son named Romilly.

I've got one. She's 5.

My daughter is a Romily, i got the name from a book i read when i was twelve. Im 45, so the names been around a while. We live in Cornwall. My daughter is the only girl in her school with this name. Everyone i have ever met loves this name and it realy suits her. We tend to call her Rom pom, or Rom Rom.

NiceCuppaT · 04/08/2010 17:26

I love it and I'm going to add it to my list! I don't know any. I'm in Somerset.

Amberbop · 04/08/2010 16:21

This is very encouraging - Romilly is what our little girl will be called when she makes an appearance in a few weeks!

TheMoreItSnows · 04/08/2010 13:15

Oops sorry - Hants

TheMoreItSnows · 04/08/2010 13:14

I've got one, she's five.....

comtessa · 04/08/2010 13:05

Very pretty name. Could also be shortened to Roma or Milly, if you like nicknames, but short enough to be used in full. Don't know any Romilly's but Romola Garai is my favourite actress (I Capture the Castle, Glorious 39, Blonde Bombshells).

Dysgu · 04/08/2010 13:01

I don't know any - it was on our (very) shortlist for both DDs but we didn't use it in the end. Still love it but not planning on any more DC.

Colliecross · 04/08/2010 12:51

Know of none in Devon.

emptyshell · 04/08/2010 12:29

Not come across it on my rounds (I teach supply so see a LOT of names in both quite chavvy and very very upper class areas).

ladyflapperflop · 04/08/2010 09:37

So it doesn't look too popular then.
Anyone else?
