It's not even slightly unisex, honestly. But it does have only one "n".

I also think of Winifred as a boys' name. Nicknames could be Freddie, Fred, Win, Winnie.

I have never seen it spelt with 2 'n's. Can't think of any other nicknames, but it is a nice name.
