Unusual girl's name

I've always loved the name Kasane - it's from a Japanese poem and is pronounced (I think) Ka-sa-ne.

But, I mis-pronounced it for ages as Ka-senne and now I love this 'made-up'? name. What do you think?

Has anyone made up a name that actually doesn't sound too far-fetched?

I'm still a bit confused as to how it/they are pronounced but I like it quite a lot. I say go for it and don't worry about inventing names. And any made up name is always going to better than a really rubbish existing one like Chardonnay!

It's a place in Botswana too. Ka-sa-ne.

I was on a name generator that creates random names earlier and one came up that I thought was a real name, it turns out it just sounds like it could be. There are plenty of those around, this particular one was Eldred. The thing is, if a name is unusual anyway, people will just believe you when you say it's pronounced how you'd like it to be pronounced.

For what it's worth, I thought Aisling was pronounced "Ays-ling" not Ashleen, and I was so disappointed because I would have loved that on a boy.

I started a thread on here about a name that I thought my friend had made up for here dd but it was lovely and someone told me on here that all names were 'made up' at some time or other so what does it matter?! Just because it's not been used before doesn't mean to say you shouldn't go for it. I would spell it how you want it to be pronounced though or else it will be annoying having to correct people all the time. My friend went with the name and it turns out it was an existing name but just very rare but wither way, you should go for it if you love it.
