Nice for a pet, perhaps! Along the lines of Clover, Bramble, that type of thing.

True but all names start somewhere, in a hundred years Bracken could have been around for aeons.

But they are traditional names that have been around for aeons. Dandelion, Conifer or Pampas anyone?!

Heather, lily, rose, Ivy, Holly are all types of vegetation but are all valid names puddinghead!

I love it! I have never heard of anyone using it but it is one of the names I suggested to dh for ds. Still may be a possible for ds2. Go for it!!! Ignore the dog, pony comments, it's a lovely name and once he's born noone will ever think of him being alled anything else!
