Nickname, Florrie

(We are not posh, is it too posh?!)

We never had flora margarine so I've not got that connection in my head.

Flora is a beautiful name. Use it.

It's a great pity some margarine has spoiled it for some.

Flòraidh?

Adair · 14/07/2010 18:02

Oh, our friends were going to call their baby this. I love it - not for me, but suited them and family so well. (Name they chose was lovely too!)

Much nicer than Florence.

franke · 14/07/2010 17:59

Margarine.

Quite like Florence though.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 14/07/2010 17:58

If you love it - then ignore me - it's only an initial thought that came into my head. That's the trouble with the MN Babynames thing - names get examined in forensic detail ... And it's not as if it has terrible connotations anyway.

Went to school with too many Fionas is a bit of an 80s name to me.

What about Fiona?

I love Flora - it was my choice for No.2 but had a DS instead. I also knew a Flora but we used to call her Floss, which I loved too.

waitingforbedtime · 14/07/2010 17:52

No of course Florence isnt Scottish, ignore me.

Argh but i really like Florrie!

I think it's posh Scottish but classy. I really like it.

You will get loads of people coming on here saying "margarine" though.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 14/07/2010 17:49

I prefer Florence, because of the margarine connection
