As part of my AW personality, i've got the 90s music on, i'm making a cosy filling dinner for me and dd

I've got the heating on, got the Argos Christmas catalogue out for dd, asking what she wants for Christmas (she is not interested)

I am almost 35, so I was young when Westlife came out, but I was a hardcore fan 🙈🙈🙈😄

IMO their first album is a Christmas album!

It was Boyzone for me though I also loved Backstreet Boys and 911.

Stone roses or The Smiths or The Verve. Oh bugger you’ve got me started now :-)

RikthePoet · Today 13:19

Westlife made Boyzone sound like Bowie.

Dead Grandmas music.

The Smiths split up in 1987.

CharlesPetrescu · Today 13:25

I have a soft spot for the Sugababes from around that time

WonderingWanda · Today 13:25

I think the 90's had terrible pop music. I really disliked the Spice Girls and all those cheesy boy bands.

I still listened to them throughout the 90s as did most people

xabimunich3 · Today 13:30

The Spice Girls, 911, Boyzone, East 17, and I was massively into Britpop stuff like Blur, Oasis, The Boo Radleys etc...
It was such a good decade for music wasn't it? It had something for everyone!

ThePineappleSeahorse · Today 13:34

I can’t believe that I forgot East 17!

MintTwirl · Today 13:35

No mention of Take That yet!!
Spice Girls and All Saints, Sugababes, 5ive.

Oh Backstreet Boys! 🥺😍

I remember loving 'baby youve got my private number' but not knowing who sang

It was an excellent decade honestly - I just think that life was better then - and Winter was better in the 90s!

Pulp
Pulp
Pulp

but as well as Pulp, I also like Blur, Oasis (I’m afraid I preferred Blur!), Manics, Catatonia, Supergrass, Stone Roses, Happy Mondays.

But Pulp will always remain my favourites.

Sure.

And people listened to The Beatles throughout the 90s, but they're not a "90s pop group" either.

WearingBeautifulShoes · Today 13:40

What is an AW personality?? Anyway, the Lemonheads or Belly.

I thought Autumn/Winter, but I’m curious too!

ThatPearlSnail · Today 13:42

Early 90s I adored Shakespeares Sister and The Lightning Seeds. Also bands like Technotronic.

Mid 90s Blur, Oasis and Take That.

By late 90s I was a young mum dancing around with a baby to The Spice Girls, Steps and the Vengaboys.

A great decade.

Could really sing what, though?

Weedy, breathy clichéd dirges, musically and lyrically.

I loved eternal when I was about 8-9 in 1995 or so. I wanted to be Louise so much!

And then later all saints.
