Noisy hotel sex. Why?

Tiredthismorning · Today 12:50

Why do people have such noisy sex in hotels? I have just got home from a wedding yesterday, after which I stayed in a hotel. The couple in the next room had vocal sex at 2am and again at 8am. Proper shrieks and moans and grunts and words that I could hear through the wall from both of them, for a good half an hour both times.

Have your fun by all means. But why make so much noise?? I know hotel rooms are private but hotels aren't, especially not in the middle of the night.

AIBU to think it's no less selfish (and quite a bit more unreasonable) than keeping other guests up with music or any other noise. It's not the first time I've been kept awake like this.

They’re away on a jolly. No work, no kids, nice meal, plenty of vino followed by a great shag. Do you wish you were there? Good luck to them, go ride them cowboy!

We’ve all read the OP, no need to quote it!

I agree, it’s like forced fun 😅

Also agree with the points people made that you don’t know in a hotel if your neighbours are a family with young kids, just be a bit considerate! Especially not in the early hours of the morning when you might wake others up.

Not everything in the world has to revolve around children and parents.

I just don’t think they’re thinking about you op. Get some ear plugs? Put the radio on? Wake up your DH and have sex too?

Edited

Well duh. They aren’t thinking about others, that’s the point.

Shouldn’t we have a little care of others in a tightly packed space? People trying to sleep, maybe young kids next door etc. It’s just a bit selfish in my opinion to be shouting and screaming.

Unclench.

If you are into having noisy hotel sex, do be aware if you come down to breakfast that other couples will have taken bets on how good-looking (or otherwise!) you and your partner will turn out to be. I always find it funny how the loud-sex couples look so sheepish and ill-at-ease with each other at the breakfast table.

Probably just hungover and not looking their most appealing. But i think either own it in the breakfast room or stay upstairs. You need to accept if others have heard you at night, they are entitled to a little snigger at you (and whoever is your chosen partner.)

Who honestly cares?!

I mean no one has to be noisy during sex, a lot of it is purely performative, I cringe when people scream the place down, and then say they can't help it Hmm like really? It's completely uncontrollable and involuntary?? I dont mean the odd noises or quiet noise but the ones who scream and shout so loud you can hear from miles away its clearly a choice to be that noisy 🤣 I get that a hotel people maybe shouldn't need to avoid being noisy but I think out of basic respect of others in the nearby rooms its reasonable to expect a bit of noise control Grin

Attention seeking, and thinking they're the only people in the world getting a shag. A couple of women in my neighbourhood are like this. You can hear the wailing and hollering from the women (when they're shagging,) from 300 yards down the road! 😱

Never hear the men though .. Funny that. 🤔

Oh no. That is embarrassing.
I had a neighbour years ago that knew well everyone could hear her. She left her window open.

But none of the other guests are consenting to be part of your sex life. And its not a vague off-chance that a hoyel room will have a child in it.

It is a vague off chance in the sort of hotels I stay in. I don’t stay in the kinds of hotels that have ‘family rooms’ or holiday resort hotels. Most of the time I see very few kids, and the chances of them being in the room next to mine are very slim indeed.

And no, someone possibly hearing the odd squeaking bedspring or muffled moan does not make them ‘part of my sex life’. I’d never set out to be heard. I’m not particularly loud; I don’t scream. But I wouldn’t make an effort to shag in silence and if someone does hear because it’s a shit hotel with thin walls, so be it.

Its a lot selfish.

It's very selfish. There is 100% absolutely no need to scream like a constipated alley cat when you're shagging. 100% attention seeking. And a bit pathetic. No-one cares that you're getting a portion Julie!

theiblis · Today 14:46

I would generally think in a hotel that the rooms would be better sound proofed, how on earth would the people having the sex know they were disturbing other people. Especially if that’s normally how they have sex and so haven’t changed their behaviour for a hotel….

Sure why not. The walls were obviously thin if you could hear grunting. Screaming your head off is different, some grunting and moaning is fine.

Mostly because some of us cant have noisy sex at home and hotels are places we don't realky care who hears us and noisy sex is fun, A different fun than the quiet type and nice for a change. You did ask. Possibly it is a bit selfish and so what?

Hotels can be noisy for all sorts of reasons l. I never stay in a hotel without good quality ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones

Its a lot selfish.

Knowing that kids stay in hotels and will be able to hear it and still enjoying being noisy is very weird.

Unless you’re staying in a Disney hotel or something, you absolutely do not know that kids can hear you.

Nobody - literally nobody - who shags in a hotel is thinking “Ooh, I hope children can hear” and or “I think there might be kids on this corridor, let’s make it louder”.

The fact that you imagine that’s their motive says a lot more about your imagination than that of the average hotel shagger, quite frankly.

When I stay in a hotel I have no idea whatsoever whether there are kids staying near me. I have zero interest in other people’s kids. The vast majority of places I stay aren’t ‘family’ type hotels and when I do see kids in hotels I’ve no idea what room they’re in or whether they’re awake when I’m having a shag at 1am. It literally wouldn’t even occur to me that kids might hear me. So no, I’m not going to to remain chastely silent and still just in case someone might have a kid in their room, because other people’s kids aren’t my problem and adults are allowed to live like adults without having to conduct themselves in child-appropriate ways at all times, including their own bloody hotel rooms.

Adults are allowed to drink, swear, fuck and stay up late and they do not have to stop doing those things in adult-orientated environments like hotels with no ‘family’ rooms, pubs and grown-up restaurants just in case another adult might have brought a child with them.

To be honest, I couldn’t give a shit. I’m really not going to fuck in silence at all times, just on the vague off-chance that one of the hotel rooms near by might contain a random child. Adults are allowed to do adult things in hotel rooms.

I don't care. Keep the bloody noise down because I am four feet away through that wall, and there's somebody the other side too!

And for those asking if I was jealous... Not really. I got astoundingly good oral sex from DH on Friday night followed by the same high quality shag I get at least a couple of times every week. And I managed to experience it all without waking the neighbours.

I once had to stand waiting for a lift with several other people while the room opposite were going at it, there was so little soundproofing you could hear his balls slapping. No one made eye contact the atmosphere was very awkward and when the lift arrived I’ve never seen so many people try to be first in! Do your thing but there’s no need to sound like you need an ambulance.

I would have laughed so much at this! Go on son 😂
