AIBU to wonder why TUI uses Ryanair and easyJet flights?

Why do TUI keep.usimg Ryanair and easyJet for their flights? They've got their own planes
This dosent happen with Jet 2.😏

Their choice, as long as they are upfront before you select any flight as part of your holiday.

I won't fly Ryanair either.

You're not wrong but of course if an airline bid/buys a slot (and they can be eye wateringly expensive) the airline, in this case TUI, then has to run services on it.

That means finding aircraft and crew from somewhere and the most common way of doing that is dumping a less profitable route so it's only worth doing if the company can fill the flights to the new destination....

This. On routes where they can fill planes they will have their own flights but on holidays where they may only have 20 people from a given airport of course they won't run a flight. In particular it increases the options for those of is wanting to fly from regional airports.

I don’t book a TUI holiday if they don’t use their own airlines. I don’t want to use third party airlines.
I often book easyJet holidays, but it is an all in package.

I do agree it’s a bit crap though, as you don’t get the same level of service

You also end up paying more than the stated price as , being Ryanair, even with Tui, baggage isn’t included, personally filter it to Tui only flights

Oh I get that, I completely understand, but with aircraft being so expensive to buy/lease and operate you have to fill aircraft as best you can to make a profit on the flight.

If TUI cannot for whatever reason, sell a large number of holidays at a particular destination their options are basically buy seats with another carrier (and make some money) or not sell at all to that destination (and possibly lose the custom).

That's fairly common across the industry, and IMO it's OK as long as it's clear before booking who is providing the actual flight.

Because Ryanair has lots of planes that go from lots of places to lots of other places. TUI doesn't.

Exactly. Sometimes I fly with Ryanair if I book a loveholidays holiday but overall we pay a lot less when we do that. If I want to book with TUI I want to fly with them also.

I noticed that. If I book a holiday with tui I want to fly with tui, not poxy Ryanair. Only use jet2 now.
