Ideas for decorating the house for autumn to cheer a poorly relative up

well good thing about Autumn it is a lovely cheerful season. Pumpkins either real but obviously they rot but i have lovely little velvet ones in oranges yellows and browns, i had mine off line but most places would sell them like Dunelms.
lots of great things like bronze chrysanthemums orange chinese lanterns lots of different greenery again real or faux try B & M the Range etc they have lots of little things like wreaths for the door, little decorations you can go really mad with the decorations

You can come on over to my place and set up a big vase filled with red brown maple-type leaves (I used to do this every year but cannot recall the damn tree’s genus) Makes a big, lasting display.
Also, in your relative’s library, on the polished Steinway, place a porcelain vase filled with bronze chrysanthemums (like Lord Peter Wimsey)

You have reminded me of a lovely interior design book (The Plot)now out of print which did indeed focus on four seasonal looks, for a small London flat.
In Autumn she would fill a window box outside her window with gourds, little pumpkins, and squashes, which are so groovy at this time of year.
She also made fiery orange felt slip covers for a couple of armchairs, which might be a step too far for you!

Get yourself to B&M, Home Bargains and TK Maxx there are so many lovely decorations, cosy blankets and cushions and lovely pumpkin spice smelling bits and bobs. I live Autumn decorations possible more than Christmas decs as they are lovely and homely and naturally colourful.
