AIBU to think thick winter coats seem too early just now?

I am seeing people wearing thick winter coats on now. If this is their only coat. Then if we get a very cold winter, these people will feel the cold more.

Get hoodies, thin jackets etc

I wear whatever coat I want when I want. I’ve never understood the “won’t feel the benefit later” mentality. I tend to feel the cold so if I’m cold the only person impacted by me wearing a winter coat is me.

I also wear 70 denier tights most of the year. Again, I’m not sure that impacts anyone else.

In short, does it matter?

Most days I'm not even wearing a hoody/jacket on the morning and evening dog walk let alone a winter coat! Definitely too warm for that right now.

It’s 8-12c when I went to work. Wore a hoodie first thing and took it off lunch time

Still on the 20’s here so I’ve not even got a jacket out yet , depends what the temperature is like where you are .

It's still really warm where I am. The thought of putting a coat on is unimaginable.

I wore a thick coat to DSs football this morning and immediately regretted it. Took it off when I got there and put my sunglasses on. Actually caught the sun on my face, didn’t realise until afterwards when I got home!

They certainly won't feel the benefit of it when it gets really cold .

I know the mornings have a much lower temperature than the afternoons , it will get cold .

There is a happy medium between summer clothing and winter coats .

Well I live on the west coast of Scotland and I've been finding the weather really quite warm lately. I 've gone out in jackets, and one occasion a body warmer, and I ve ended up having to take the jacket off and put it in my bag because I've been uncomfortably warm.

Tbh on the same day I'm seeing people like myself coatless and through every variation of clothing right up to full winter coats. I know everyone's body has different cold and heat tolerance but I do wonder how some cope when the weather is really cold.
