People saying pack lunch instead of packed lunch

This makes me irrationally angry

It's not regional. People seem to have stopped using 'ed' at the end of past participles recently.
I frequently see 'I use to .....' , 'He is bias' and other examples.

Pack up doesn’t bother me as much as it’s another term for it. Pack lunch just sounds like it’s being said wrong.

I use packed lunch and pack up interchangeable

but not pack lunch which sounds like a lunch for a bunch of girl guides

It slightly grates on the nerves in the same way that math instead of maths does

The correct term is “packed” as it is a lunch which has been packed in the past I thought, as opposed to being carried in a pack on your back?

It's just an abbreviation I guess.

Technically it's got to be "packed" as in you pack a lunch at home and take it out.

Yeah it is annoying but it's just how people speak these days.
