I’m sat here in a Primark hoodie that’s 10 years old, still looks like new. I have a Select Jacket that I get compliments for that is 30 years old. Stop believing what the Daily Mail says about Primark. Customers don’t just throw it away! I buy list from charity shops too. But this awful classism is so depressing.

You don’t need a post office. I live within walking distance of a Royal Mail locker, an InPost locker, a DPD locker and Evri shops. None require a printer, either for eBay or Vinted.

I feel that it makes fast fashion better- it's not going in the bin, it's being sold!

I reuse all packaging to minimise waste. It doesn't look great but gets the job done. I haven't bought mailing bags for years.

I’ve just bought a pair of shoes that I’ve been trying to track down for months since they sold out in my size. I was ecstatic when I saw them. Brand new and unworn for £70 less than RRP.

I still love eBay. It fetches higher prices than Vinted and I’m in no hurry to sell.

Plus eBay has good customer service. I can speak to an actual person without waiting. Also, when I’ve selected the incorrect weight/size for my item when posting something, eBay have reimbursed Royal Mail for the difference and haven't charged me.

Also, when a customer failed to be present for delivery 3 times, eBay refunded me.

I use vinted near enough every week. Its great for the planet and cheaper for a big family. I just got new school shoes for my son for 2.00. Three winter coats for 8.00 for 2 of my kids (2 for the girland one for the boy) . Couldn't be more thrilled ...

Yes, this. The post office staff where I send have remarked on my comparatively chic packaging, but as we’re a cotton bag household, we don’t really ever have leftover carrier bags knocking around, so easier for me just to buy bags of a useful size in multipacks, which the buyers will then be able to use again when selling, most likely. (I don’t buy, just sell.)

I have to say that what stopped me starting to sell on Vinted earlier was me (wrongly) thinking I needed a printer. But key for me is living about fifty feet from a post office. I think it would be too much faff otherwise.

Those people are chancers and I always get crazy offers on new items. If it's too low, I just reject, if it's reasonable I accept or counter offer.

Buyers have always had to pay postage (including on ebay) so as a seller you do have to factor this in.

For your jumper, I'd expect to pay around £8-£10.

Also, it works both ways... you can get a bargain for yourself!

Vinted is great I buy most of my clothes, bags and shoes and boots from Vinted

have a few items than didn’t suit me but all have been as described

Do you have any idea how much clothing is produced? How many decades worth of clothes are in existence, not being worn? Of course the market is oversaturated.
Sellers need to be realistic about demand, your item is only worth what someone will pay. Doesn't matter how nice it is, or how much you paid for it.

Surely the point of these sites is to sell old stuff/crap you can’t be bothered to take to the charity shop. If you make a couple of pounds from it then that’s good. It’s not supposed to replace a ‘proper income’ I sell on fb marketplace but you can only get what people are willing to pay. 🤷🏻‍♀️

People keep saying eBay is an auction site and bidding but in my experience it’s mainly Buy it Now/offers accepted pricing. It is a completely different model to how it started

I find Vinted more fair in this sense. If an item goes missing you are compensated by Vinted rather than having to chase the courier yourself as you did on eBay.

You can bulk buy postage bags very cheaply.

No one is more hopeful than a woman with a phase eight wedding guest dress for sale online for £110!

There are lota of selling hacks. I bulk upload on a Fri or Sat and include something I know will sell. That drives the algorothym and then I will have a flurry of sales.

fees applied to postage really wound me up and that's why I stopped using Ebay.

Vinted tend to side with the buyer too though, unfortunately

You can buy bags for selling on Amazon in different sizes. I get a multipack. They just peel and seal. To be honest people package in anything though - inside out shopping bags, binliners, with copious amounts of sellotape!

Modeled well and priced right I’ve only had one thing out of 72 items this year that hasn’t sold. You have to know your buyers - when are they buying, what words get views etc.

If you’re selling a size 6 Zara slip then there’s 0 point uploading it on a Monday morning because all the size 6 (see usually young or teen) buyers are at school. Upload on Friday night the weekend of payday described as ‘Y2K club dress’. It’ll fly.

I've lost 6 stone plus and although mine was through illness there are many ladies selling their lovely clothes on eBay after WLJ.
I've put my designer toggs up for sale and it has been rubbish. Too much competition. Previously (I have 1000+ rating,) I did very well.
I will need to cut the price to get rid of them or risk the moth having a go.

My daughter uses vinted and depop but washes everything. I even washed a bag for her as it stank of fags! That would have been a negative feedback on eBay.

I only buy secondhand and look for never worn with the labels. A new to me coat is due today!
It really is worth hunting down what you need as it will be put there. I wanted a certain German jean and it took me three weeks to find them.

I always give up browsing vinted because souch stuff is badly presented - unironed cotton or linen half hanging off a hanger etc.
