Aibu to feel like I always need 'a clearout'

Had a clear out in spring and binned 5 bag worth of shit from the house.
Just started this week and I currently have 4 bag and I haven't started on the kids bedrooms. This is all from downstairs.
Why do I have so much crap?! How do I make it stop??!!!

You have growing kids so decluttering and clearing out is an ongoing process. Seasonal cleaouts 4 times a year with wardrobe changes or when they have a growth spurt are good and keep low key decluttering going on.

I agree with most of the PP that bringing in less stuff is key. One in, one out is good, two out is better. If your kids are staring to leave home, let them take the stuff they want or need if you have more than you need.

I agree! I seem to need to regularly declutter but my child definitely has hoarder tendencies and is very attached to things that he does then like again later so it’s difficult to know what can be moved on

The simple answer to having so much stuff to constantly need to get rid of is really just bring less stuff in.
Obviously when you have number of growing children you will need to keep the cycle of bringing things in and decluttering what no longer fits but even so could you buy less in the first place? Ds is my youngest at 15 and he still has some toys in his room, we gradually (like maybe twice a year) go through it all and he will do a little declutter but we are quite ruthless generally about not bringing in too much ‘stuff’ and passing on anything that’s no longer useful to us. I do hate an excess of stuff.
