Advice over walking to school. Our school allows kids in certain year groups to walk alone. My son has done so now for a year without drama with his mates. Another one of his mates has moved closer and started walking too. No problem at all! Except… the mum has started sending a younger sibling along with them (without telling me). School has intervened as they are massively against this (the school safeguarding lead actually called me to tell me this as they thought we were part of it) - but the family have not stopped doing it. It’s stressing out my son. I have tried to put various changes in place to address it and have spoken to the family. Realistically I am not convinced they are ever going to stop. I feel so sorry for my son I don’t want to reduce his independence but running out of options. Also sibling has some pretty big behavioural challenges so it is a huge burden for the boys even before the school policy kicks in. Any advice?
