Im an employee within the Civil Service, and I’m aware that a particular manager that I know manages both of his two daughters in another team.
They have both landed well paid jobs despite having no experience because clearly their father has helped them get past the application which means they get interviews automatically.
The hiring managers on the interviewing panel were their father’s best friends. Workplace partners working with his daughters have eluded to these daughters not having a clue what they are doing day to day. Now most recently his son in law has also joined his team.
The team he managers is small, say 5 people and 3 of which are his family. Should one of those employees experience issues with either of his daughters, how would any employee approach this? I’m speechless that the civil service would allow a father to direct manage two of his daughters and son in law.
Surely the conflict of interest is awful here and overall team morale? does anybody have any experience of similar? I can’t find a clear defined policy that states this shouldn’t be allowed.
