I can’t sleep so doom scrolling what’s this on BBC News?

I just noticed it too - only happened in the last 10/15 min as I read the article 15 mins ago. Very odd..

That one story is in Russian. It says 'Russian' underneath as a tag instead of Politics etc. Interesting. Can't read it!!

It says Russia now so isn't it just the Russia section of the BBC? I'll join you in doomscrolling, I can't sleep either-again!

I can’t see if my pics have come up but it’s a screenshot of the website and this is the only Russian article on an English page

Yeah, it does. The BBC has about 20 other sister language sites.

I’m in singapore, it comes up as Russian and then redirects on to an English page.

Sometimes Google takes me to BBC Pidgin and it's absolutely marvelous - I love trying to translate the articles. I would freak out if I hit a Russsian page though.

I think it’s just a tech glitch with the wrong language article appearing. They write content in Russian so it just happens to be appearing in the wrong place.

I go back to France regularly and when I am there I am out in the sticks, full on countryside and my phone 'resets' to Russian every time.
It's very creepy.

If you'd been watching their TV news at the top of the hour you'd find the presenter had left...there was just an empty chair, then a bloke looking for something on the desk...

Maybe something is going on in the background?

Me too, it gets suggested on my news feed on my phone and I always click into it. I love trying to read it hearing the accent in my head. It reminds me of my childhood because my parents used to get The Sunday Post and it had The Broons cartoon strip in it, which is in Scots dialect.

I don't think you're the only one - I too thought it was pigeon!! That BBC pidgin site is a wonder to behold - I'm reading it in a Nigerian accent😂
