Therein lies a problem then - a wet bra with dry clothing over the top.

I think because at home I tend to dry off by degrees over a longer period of time and often start by just putting on a dressing gown or staying naked while I brush my teeth, sort my hair etc.
Whereas in the swimming pool, I just want to get out asap so I am reliant on less effective quick towel drying. Plus the changing room is communal and I'm not that body confident so trying to awkwardly change under the same towel that's now damp as used to dry me.

Buy a towel dressing gown and dive home it that?

I do actually have the same problem after a bath or shower.

Yeah I've stopped trying to put my bra on after swimming. I just chuck on a loose jumper and tracky bottoms then jump in the shower at home.

I just leave my bra off, support the ample bosom by carrying my bag close to me as if I can’t be bothered to have it dangle and head for the car to drive the five minutes home. Hoping I don’t have an accident sans brassiere

But I use two towels. One for an initial full body dry, which then becomes my hair turban.

Then a second towel for another full body rub. This gets rid of the clammy feeling in swimming pool changing rooms. Not sure if this would work for the beach?

Do you All have the same problem after taking a shower? Why not? What could be different about getting dressed after a shower at home compared to after a swim.

I don't have this problem, even if I'm soaking wet when getting dressed again after the swim (nice to not dry off if boiling hot outside anyway). Doesn't take me longer to get dressed than any other time.

I do an open water swim every week, about 40 minutes. Driving there and back, getting changed and showered takes more than 40 minutes. Also wrestling with my wetsuit counts as exercise also 😅

I don't think baby powder has any Talc in it now in the UK.

It used to be talcum - which is a mineral, now it’s corn starch.

The cancer thing was because when they mined it they didn’t always ensure there was no asbestos in it - as that is often found in the same places.

In the 1950s - 80s there was an idea that babies needed to have talc on their bums and genitals to dry them and ward off nappy rash. It’s now known that women who had talc used like this as babies have been studied and talc has been found in womb and reproductive organs- and cancer is increased in these women.

My babies are 18 now and we never used baby powder like that thank god.

Now they’ve eliminated actual talc for the above reason, but it doesn’t behave in quite the same way, and can be a bit claggy.

Because the air in a pool is very warm and moist, so it's much more difficult to get and stay dry.

Glad it's not just me. I love swimmming but honestly the getting dressed afterwards makes me go less than I otherwise would. I do adopt the joggers and baggy hoodie approach, but it means I can only swim if I'm going home straight afterwards whereas being able to swim before work or at lunchtime would fit into my routine so much better.

In my case it doesn't help that I have to change in a communal changing room and aren't quite unselfconscious enough to not do the changing under towel thing.

Deffo more comfy to have an evening swim! My pool has started offering laned sessions from 7.45pm to 9pm :) planning to go tonight.

(Will still put my bra on tho!)

I swim 3 x a week

Microfiber towels are a god send. I really didn't think so the first time I used it, but once you get the hang of using one, they are a game changer. You pat yourself with it, do not rub like a cotton towel.

I do look a bit of a slob leaving as I have cotton tracksuit bottoms and a roomy fleece 1/4 zip. I'm in the no bra club as that is the most difficult item to put back on slightly damp imo.

Last night I had to pop to the shop on the way home so I just put on a better looking pair of bottoms and the same fleece top I usually wear. Loose is key here. I could not imagine putting jeans on after.

I do swim in the evening though, so this might make a difference that I can head off and usually go straight home.

If I morning swim it's at the weekend and I come home and shower then put a bra on.

What if you are going on to work though, or just to have a weekend day? I more often swim in the morning than any other time. <faints at the idea of not wearing a bra all day>

I never bother with a bra after swimming. No point.
