Actually there was an airport in Gaza until they started the 2nd intifada. It couldn't be continguous because the WB and Gaza are geographically separate with Israel in between but there was talk of a protected corridor linking them. Israel wouldn't have controlled trade.

Of course Jewish people originate from that part of the world. Where else would they have come from? They didn’t just suddenly pop into existence!

There has always been a Jewish population in the region , even after the Roman expulsion. The Jewish diaspora then spent much of the next two millennia assimilating into European society and enduring discrimination, inquisitions and pogroms for being Jewish, culminating in the Holocaust, from which global Jewish population numbers still have not recovered. The creation in 1948 of a homeland nation where Jews could be safe, could have an army, defend themselves and where all Jewish people could live was a not unreasonable response to near 2,000 years of persecution in Europe and the murder of 6 million people. What were they supposed to do? Start rebuilding in Poland and wait for the next pogrom??

I think an interesting sister question to ‘where are Jews from?’ Is ‘where are Jews supposed to go?’. The people who are (again) making Jews feel so unsafe in Europe and the West that they are leaving for Israel in ever accelerating numbers are the very same people who believe Israel shouldn’t exist. So where are Jews supposed to live? Where are the Jews of Israel supposed to go when your dream of the white coloniser/apartheid state being dismantled ‘from the river to the sea’ is fulfilled? Do you think they will be safe living in Palestine? What is your plan beyond the catchy sloganeering?

It's a fair question but, honestly, Jews are done asking permission about where they can live so while you might reveal hypocrisy, the answers are meaningless.

And again, Jews have been second class citizens in the Middle East for a lot longer than the word Palestinian has been in use. They've never had equal rights to whatever their coloniser du jour has been. Just like they still don't have equal rights in large parts of the Arab world and Iran today.

But to the point, there are 14 countries I am not even allowed to visit as someone who happened to be born in Israel and they aren’t all in the Middle East. The Maldives being crossed off was a sad discovery. Of course, if they don’t want me, I can spend my money elsewhere! But the idea that any sort of country ruled by antisemites would be a safe haven for Jews is endlessly bewildering.

My grandmother was born in 1920. It was unimaginable to her that she’d always have a place to go, she grew up knowing she wasn’t welcome anywhere and any sort of security was temporary.

Mostly because that particular poster is a name I recognise. She was on here earlier claiming to be a Jewish Muslim Moroccan. She claims to hate occupation, then shares the Western Sahara flag... A country her country is occupying 😂😂😂 So I guess it's just "occupation" by Jewish people she hates. I wonder why.

Remember "Black September" when King Hussein of Jordan told his army to shell the refugee camps in Jordan in September 1970 to try to get rid of the PLO forces led by Yasser Arafat ?
I'm not sure if it is classed as a 'genocide' or a massacre, but 3,400 were killed on the PLO side.
Interestingly, King Hussein got a free pass on that one.
It seems to me that when Arabs kill Arabs that's OK, but if Israelis kill Arabs everyone loses their minds.

Chabad has become public enemy number one as it is clearly on a mission to secretly take over Thailand with the clever.rich and cunning Jews coming to exploit the kind-hearted, poor and naive Thais (and the corrupt government).
