To think a 7 year gap isn’t close in age

There’s a 6 year age gap between me and my husband. We met when I was 22 and he was 28. Nobody cares, and honestly we are more or less the same age maturity wise and started working full time at the same age too. Both consenting adults.

If you are talking about kids ages then no…but in a relationship yes, especially after 30, and it’s practically the same after 60.

23 and 30 is fine in a relationship - there was 7 years gap in my parents relationship and they were together happily until my dad passed in his 70s.

Exactly this. It's a gap which will effectively narrow as you age. When I was a teenager, my now husband was twice my age. We met when I was in my 30s. Now we are in our 50s and 60s, the gap doesn't seem much at all - we have very similar frames of reference.

DH is 7 years older than me. We were 27 and 34 when we got together. Would I have got with him when I were 23 and he were 30? Probably not
