Friends who brag about their wealth but never get a round in (but happily chug down the rounds bought by others)

How do you deal with this?

Hey Susan, I am not buying rounds, just buying for myself.
my own bill for a meal - for the food I ate - too.
I used to have a ‘friend’ who pulled that ‘oh I don’t have my specs’ shit. I’d just tell the waiter, separate bills please, with a smile. Pay mine and leave her to it. Then I had an ‘accident with my phone and social media, I accidentally blocked her. Ooops.

I don’t think I have ever been in a situation where I have felt the need to buy anyone drinks where I don’t want to more than once.

How?

"Susan it's your round" is how I'd deal with it.

If she didn't take the mega hint, I'd not go out with her again.

I think she's incredibly stupid (if I told you her job you'd be horrified) and probably totally devoid of empathy so I actually don't think she does know. Which makes me feel a bit bad but again she has an absurdly serious job for a thickie and I'm not her keeper so shrug overall.

I would not be friends with them. But if forced, I would totally take the piss and shame them. I’ve got no time for tight wankers who take advantage of other people’s generosity.

Only get your own drinks/food and don't pay for anyone else's. I might go 50/50 with a friend/relative who is known to be fair.
