After school pick up we went to my parents house and whilst we were there, my parents had a package delivered. They had ordered some pillows and in the package there was some pillows and a duvet. My dad then looked at the address on the package and saw that it wasn’t their package (the package was for an address not too far away with the same door number and for a person with the same initials as my dad).
An hour or so later we were leaving and as it wasn’t too far out of our way, we offered to take the package with us and drop it off at the right house and to see if they had my parents package. My partner went to the door of the right house but no one was home so he knocked on a neighbour’s door and left it with them.
Whilst my partner was out of the car, my mum called me because the EVRI driver had turned back up at their house with their package after realising his mistake. The driver was not happy that we had taken the package to its owner as he would now lose out on money. He was wanting us to stay there for 10 minutes and wait for him and show him where we delivered it but eventually left my parents house when we gave him the number of the neighbours house (I was waiting for my partner to come back to tell them the number for about a minute) but he was not at all happy about it.
We didn’t wait there and went home so I assume the driver will be knocking on the neighbours door. I don’t think we did the wrong thing here but did we? My parents wanted their package and assumed that the other house had it and we left it with a neighbour which is most likely what the driver would have done after getting it back from my parents house…
