Tom Cruise on GQ cover…

I’ve just seen him interviewed and he doesn’t look plastic at all. In fact, he’s much more lined and craggy than I realised. In contrast, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman in Practical Magic 2 interviews have not one line on their face. Tom looks much more normal and his age than they do.

Marina Hyde is always on the money. I don't care about the photo, but the interview was such evasive waffle it was not worth printing. The interviewer just gave up, clearly.
Tom is such a deeply pompous and uninteresting man.

I mean, I’m all for people doing what they want with their bodies, etc, but I’ve always thought Tom Cruise emits a sort of control freak, try hard neediness that undermines any sex appeal points his biceps might be racking up. Real sex appeal is not caring what people think (or covering it up better). Especially in men over 50 - by that point, confidence, industry influence, experience, bespoke tailoring, and all that is much more compelling in your film star type. For me, anyway. YMMV. Put down the Grecian 2000, Tom, and lean into your silver fox era, why don’t you.

Maybe his usual look is how he is at home, but at the Emmy’s the other week his very dark hair and grey beard were very much present.

Sorry, but felt the need to defend Matthew Rhys here… his hair was obviously dyed for The Beast in Me and perhaps other roles, but his usual look is grey temples and beard. He also had a receding hairline that he doesn’t bother trying to hide. He’s pretty natural and looks his age.

Never found Tom Cruise remotely attractive, but would probably like him more if he aged a bit less artificially. That said, he can do what he likes and is not unreasonable to pose for a magazine at any age. Sexiness doesn’t stop at 40.

The magazine is aimed at men. There’s nothing wrong with men in their 60s wanting to feel or look sexy and / or aspire to it. Just like women. This post is just plain rude.
Men’s ageist and derogatory opinions on women’s magazine covers is also rude.

Oh heck - this comment is exactly my thoughts when I hear the name Tom Cruise. Your description of him trampolining on Oprah’s sofa set me off laughing. Thank you for giving me such a good laugh. I thought the cover on GQ was terrible, he has had so much reshuffling done to his face its cringeworthy.

It doesn’t do anything for me but there again I don’t find many men his age truly sexy.
Women do it so why can’t he?
The point is there is so much pressure on film stars to remain youthful.
That is why they have Botox, fillers, facelifts, nose jobs, work on their teeth, use slimming pills, dye their hair, have a restrictive diet etc. Quite frankly it’s what keeps them in work. Look at Nicole Kidman.
He has kept himself fit and good for him.
Whilst I don’t find this image appealing, I’ll take it over the gross shirtless men I see in town whenever the sun appears.
