The question is: Please could you provide me with a breakdown of the nationalities of foreign nationals arrested for alleged sexual offences since 1 January 2024.

The reply is:
Please see the table below showing Charges for rape and sexual assault, for all non-UK nationals, 01/01/2024 to 31/12/2024.

But the table provided shows arrests not charges. So is the reply wrong or is the table wrongly labelled? My guess is the former, but it is very sloppy of them.

There is a mistake in that reply and it is an important one.

You’ve accepted it’s the first tier tribunal already, that it’s not an internal review and that you were muddled on that. Plus all there is to do is wait and see.

Fortunately the tribunal favours transparency even if Labour and supporters dislike that.

It looks more likely they’ll have to publish but we’ll see.

I have not said if I think there is a coverup or not. I am just collecting information, and posting it. It seems this is normal procedural stuff with this FOI request. Me saying that is not me reaching a conclusion and stating it.

It is. It shows the vast number of offences are committed by non-foreign nationals. This is not the exact same 12 months but no reason to think the figures wouldn't be broadly similar:

Between 1 September 2023 and 30 September 2024, there were 11,075 crimes recorded that were not subsequently cancelled and were classified as sexual offences.
